Most popular social net?

article claims myspace is the most popular social networking site on the internet, which is probably true, but it doesn't have any numbers to back it up or say who is making the claim.

Do not blank out comments

... it is important for them to remain part of the page so that people know the history of the page. If the talk page is getting too long, there is a proper process to archive them. Granite T. Rock 19:39, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

Anyone care to protect this page or ban that series of IPs as it has gone under much vandalism recently? -- Riffsyphon1024 17:17, Jun 22, 2005 (UTC)

That IP address that's been calling Tom a moonie should be banned. -- SpitefulCrow 2:04, July 22, 2005

The information on this page is wholly suspicious, the information is difficult to believe, poorly written, and no legitimate sources are listed. washingtimes.com is just a web search site, and www.myspace.com/myspaceman contains no information of the sort it is likely a stab at self promotion. I've deleted these.

If no one is sure about factual information about Tom, perhaps this page should be merged into the main MySpace article. -- Ryank808 12:00, Jul 23, 2005 (UTC)

  • None of the information on this page makes sense and is totally false. I will revert the anon edits. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:02, July 24, 2005 (UTC)

Is Tom Anderson a moonie and a formerly closeted homosexual, and was he in fact arrested for molesting cats? I've got to say I'm a little skeptical. Everyking 04:20, 26 July 2005 (UTC)

  • I can say that Tom is none of the above. He's just a visionary who created a cool website and many thousands like to blast him on a regular basis. I would keep this page protected as long as needed from those who might want to slander him. We also have the same problem with that top 10 of vandalised pages don't we? Btw, I'm a member of that site so I know what's true and not. Molesting cats is just wrong anyway. :P -- Riffsyphon1024 05:18, July 30, 2005 (UTC)
I'm going to leave it up to you two when to have the page unprotected as you two seem to be in the know. I was just passing through :-) Granite T. Rock 05:26, July 30, 2005 (UTC)

If the vandal continues see: Wikipedia:Dealing_with_vandalism Granite T. Rock 05:17, July 27, 2005 (UTC)

I have requested protection for the article via Wikipedia:Requests_for_page_protection#Current_requests. Hopefully something will happen soon. Granite T. Rock 23:12, July 27, 2005 (UTC)

I've protected the article. When you want the protection lifted please request it at WP:RFPP. Thryduulf 13:29, 28 July 2005 (UTC)

Can the Parody link be removed? It's basically all the false information the vandals were adding to this article and was probably started by them. -- Spiteful Crow 0:16, August 4 2005

if you want it removed you need to go to the link above and request that the protection be removed and then remove it yourself. Although it is labelled parody so people will know it's not true. The user in who caused the problems seems to have lost interest in wikipedia for the time being. Granite T. Rock 13:23, August 6, 2005 (UTC)
If he returns you can protect it again. -- Riffsyphon1024 14:14, August 8, 2005 (UTC)
