Description

Tommy Whittle and Barbara Jay, In the world of saxophone playing, Tommy has been renowned and respected throughout his career. He joined the great Ted Heath Band when he was only 20 years old. After five and a half years, he left to further his solo playing desires and, in fact, bacame a featured soloist with the BBC Showband. He won popularity polls then, and again as recently as 1990 and 1991 when he won the British Jazz Award for Top Tenor Saxophone.
