Mark Vanterpool

Mark is the man with the action plan! Ever since his successful election to becomethe fourth district representative in 1999, Mark Vanterpool has become one the BVI's most popular politicians.

Born on July 3, 1956 he is marked by his trademark smile and firm hand shakes. Mark is a family man, a politician, a business man and a community leader. He has served in many positions in the Territory as Deputy Speaker of theVirgin Islands Legislature in 2002-2003, Chairman & President of K-Mark's Foods 1996 Ltd. , a member of the legislature from 1999 to present, Assistant Vice-President of Operations at Barclays Bank PLC from 1974-1988, and he was even an elementary school teacher.

As a community leader he is the former Vice-Chairman of the Board-B.V.I. Electricity Corporation, a former Board Member of the B.V.I. Social Security Board, former President of the B.V.I. High School Parent Teacher's Association, former President of the B.V.I. Olympic Committee and the former President B.V.I. Amateur Basketball Association.

In 1994 he was awarded Business Person of the Year. He is an avid family man, he is married to Judith Vanterpool and has two sons.
