Tokyo Dawn Records

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tokyo Dawn Records is a netlabel based in Weimar, Germany. The label carries origins in the demoscene and was established in 1997 to promote "opensource music". It was headed by Prymer and featured many aspiring artists and musicians. Like many netlabels it provided a plattform for distribution of music that otherwise would not be available to the average bedrooom music producer.

However, the company later found that open sources principles cannot be applied directly to the music industry; they are offering music for free download, but users are not allowed to re-distribute modified versions of the tracks.[1]
