Toker Dam

Toker Dam is the largest dam in Eritrea. Construction was completed in 1997. Its primary designer was Natural Resources Consulting Engineers from Colorado, USA. Furthermore, NRCE Inc., was the primary consultant on the project.

The project was designed to provide modern and effective service to the City of Asmara and neighboring villages. It further provides safe drinking water and irrigable water for the local population. The dam is a reinforced concrete core dam.

The dam is 67 metres tall and was constructed for the Ministry of Construction. The dam can hold 13 million cubic metres of water. Its overall value is $44 million.
