[edit] Neutrality

Have overhauled article. Any thoughts on its current state of neutrality?EBY3221 07:59, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Tattoos

I wonder what Todd says about getting his tattoos in the last few years. Good start on the article! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.0.81.133 (talk) 04:40, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Added Picture

Controversial views section is useless and unballanced. Tag added Micov 19:54, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

The picture was taken by me. And used here. I have many pictures of Mr. Bentley, taken by me and others. I live in clearwater florida and have spent much time at the revival. Micov 03:06, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

You've released it for use? EBY3221 22:58, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Controversy

I added this section because the article has a narrow chirstian bias and does not address the parts of his minisrty is in question. i am working on the ref list. please discuss before editing or making any serious changes.--Dizor (talk) 07:25, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Doing an overhaul of the beginning, using credible sources (current ones may not meet standards) EBY3221 22:58, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

This article is a biography. I didn't edit the controversy.

He's a phoney and the Lord showed me this! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.65.135.226 (talk) 00:21, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Inaccuracy? What does Scripture really say about contact with the dead?

"This of course, is considered controversial since Scripture prohibits any contact with the dead, saved or not." I believe this is incorrect (and a common oversight of what the Bible actually says that makes me very angry and I wish critics would actually think about the Bible instead of traditional teachings about the Bible, but I digress). Examples: Jesus James John and Peter had contact with the dead in Mt 17:3, Mk9:4, Lk9:32 (albeit only Jesus conversed with them, albeit Jesus said His followers would do what He did in John 14:12.) John had contact (although not speaking to the dead) in Rev 7:10,14, and this occurred in the future, or was a vision set in the future -- (he also conversed with an angel in the future in Rev 10:9). Anyway, I am not a scholar but it makes sense to me to at least rephrase this sentence to "prohibits calling up the dead" and give citations to Deut 18:11. I haven't seen any non-speculative evidence that Todd has actually called up the dead (as opposed to being shown the dead by God (the dead who may have incidentally been granted resurrection in the afterlife like Moses & Elijah or in life like Lazarus or Jesus) than Jesus James John or Peter did in Mat 17, John in Rev, or Ezekiel in Ez37 who some might say practiced necromancy by creating a talking army of the undead. If there is actual evidence that he is in rebellion to God (and principles of Scripture) by conjuring up the dead, acting as a medium or spiritist then I would like to see citations. But in general much of Western Christianity seems pretty clued out when it comes to understanding and discerning spiritual things (and have a tendency to freak out, fret, lean on their own understandings, and judge without understanding), so I acknowledge that it is a controversial topic, which is why it is even more important to be sure you get the phrasing (and concepts) right in articles like this when saying Scripture says something. That said, I'm not a scholar and open to better understanding. I don't care about Todd or his rep as much as the (mis)representation of Scripture here. Meharin (talk) 07:22, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] activities

I removed lines that seem to advertise for his ministry. they seemed to have no relevance to this article. items like his podcast website.--Dizor (talk) 23:59, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] weasel words

See Wiki guidelines - "some" evangelists say... "these" blah blah. Contrary to Wiki standards.

Yes, I noticed the weasel wording, and have moved it to the talk page here until someone can find a reliable source.

[who?] Some evangelical leaders are wary of Bentley's minisrty [1] stating that we are warned explicitly in the Christan Bible that in the Last Days "...there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."[2] These evangelical leaders[citation needed] identify his ministry to this passage.

See http://www.revivalschool.com/ Andrew Strom would be one of the Evangelical leaders, other names are not specifically mentioned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.28.97.115 (talk) 23:20, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

See http://www.newchristian.org.uk/lakeland.html which sets out a cautionary warning as to whether the "impartation" or "fire" Todd Bentley transmits - through touch - is a genuine Holy Spirit activity. 77.98.138.56 (talk) 18:08, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
