Biographical background relevant to Wikipeida articles I've worked on: My maternal great grandfather was a Cairns business pioneer, my father came to Cairns as part of the Australian armys anti malaria experimental medical and swamp drainage group. After the war he ran an inner city Cairns newsagency in the 1950s and 1960s and was a proof reader at the Cairns Post through the 1970s. I have been a cadet journalist for the Cairns Post newspaper. I collected a large press clipping archive of the band Gondwanaland in the 1980's and am currently a full time staff member of a Cairns historical archive and reference collection and have been in this volunteer occupation for over a decade.
