Tobor the Great is a 1954 science fiction film, written by Carl Dudley & Philip MacDonald, and directed by Lee Sholem. It stars Charles Drake, Karin Booth, and Billy Chapin. The film shall be released to DVD on May 13, 2008 by Lionsgate Home Entertainment, and retails at around $14.98. However, no bonus features will be included. Instead, it includes a mini-poster inspired by the original theatrical poster.
Dr. Ralph Harrison, a member of the new government-appointed Civil Interplanetary Flight Commission, resigns in protest against the inhumane treatment being inflicted upon spaceship pilots. His colleague Professor Nordstrom develops an alternative robot spaceman (a.k.a. TOBOR), [which is stolen by enemy agents.
