Tobias Lars Mikaelsson (born 17 November 1988) is a Swedish football player who currently plays for English Premier League side, Aston Villa.

He signed for the club on 1st August 2005 from Swedish Superettan side, Ljungskile SK - the team he also supports. He is noted for his tall and powerful physique, yet he also excellent ability with the ball at his feet.

He is yet to play a game for the Aston Villa senior team, but has made appearances in the youth level and for the Reserves - where has a prolific goalscoring record. 'Toby' is thought to have a very bright future ahead of him, some pundits had previously tipped him to become a star while he was at youth level, and follow the footsteps of his boyhood idols Zlatan Ibrahimović and Henrik Larsson. Mikaelsson rejoined Ljungskile SK on loan in April 2007 to gain first-team experience, and he shone, scoring 1 goal and bagging 5 assists in the stint. Mikaelsson has had a brilliant start to the reserve team regularly scoring and helping with assists, looking a much improved player than the season before.

On 18 September 2007 he scored his first hat-trick for Aston Villa Reserves - in a 4-1 victory against Derby County.

On 17 January 2008, Mikaelsson joined Port Vale on a one-month loan deal, joining up with team-mate Chris Herd[1].
