Anyone know who played trombone on this album? I can't find out anywhere. Boris B 06:37, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:ToMegaTherion.jpg

Image:ToMegaTherion.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Black metal

How is this album black metal? What makes it black metal? There are no blast beats, no screams, no satan related lyrics, no or very few tremolo picked parts, no extreme tempos... it's a thrash album. Kameejl (Talk) 22:24, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

So, by your definition, Venom's Black Metal isn't black metal then. That certainly creates quite a paradox. And if "satanic" lyrics a black metal band makes, Morbid Angel and Deicide would be black metal then. And Immortal wouldn't be black metal, because 90% of their lyrics are about their rather disturbing snow fetish. Also, most of the early Norwegian black metal fare didn't have extreme tempos at all... Musicaindustrial (talk) 12:04, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Where did I say that every band with satanic lyrics is black metal? A single trait doesn't make any band any genre. A combination of traits do. If an album doesn't contain any element of genre X, it can't be genre X, simple common sense... The only thing To Mega Therion and black metal have in common is the use of distorted guitars and that just isn't enough.
And the music of early Norvigian black metal bands (Mayhem, Darkthrone, Burzum) is fast, laden with tremolo picking and screamed vocals, etc.. Nothing like To Mega Therion.
Again, what makes To Mega Therion black metal? Kameejl (Talk) 15:12, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
