Welcome to my humble page I am pleased you've stopped by to see who I am. If you want to talk to me then please leave me a message on my talk page, if you are here to rant at me then please think before you write. I try my best to do things right but human error often prevails. If you point out my problems to me I will correct them - just don't shout as I have weak ears!

I know i left.. It seemed a good idea at the time.. but Im back and ready to edit again! Woot!

On Me

MSN: tmorton@tomnrob.co.uk morton.thomas@googlemail.com
Hi, my name is Thomas although you may call me Errant (or of course any other name you really want). I'm a self confessed Wiki-addict who spends his time either pottering around here or trying to learn Electronic Engineering at University. I live in the UK but haven't always; somehow my parents were disorganised to be in Germany when I was born. This was before the unification by the way so it wasn't exactly safe!

Unfortunately for you guys I seem to have survived and so here I am to do my damage to this great encylopedia, fortunately though I am a nice person so you shouldn't have to worry too much!

Hobbies, Interests and Expertise

Mostly my hobbies seem to be based on computers, which isn't suprising really. I have an interest in pretty much anything electrical / electronic - especially if I can take it apart to see how it works. Also I have a big interest in Web design, mostly the programming , and have built a few websites (Higher Fingle Farm, Starlincs Planetarium) through the small company I run with a friend. I self taught myself PHP, Html and Mysql and I like to think that I have a good understanding of all 3. Currently I am working on a PHP based project called LIVE! which is a sort of social betworking and productivity site (anyone who wants to help ouit get in touch we need you). Other than that I like both reading and writing stuff - especially the writing. I like to think I am quite a good writer after having published a couple of articles.

On Wikipedia

I only really got into Wikpedia a few months ago when I was aked to write the MINERVA article, it was a pretty pants start but I am a quick learner and have improved since then. Mostly I like to pick and improve new articles that are really short and pointless. You would be supprised how many new stubs can be researched in an hour or so in google.

In truth I try my hand at anything and everything because I feel that specialising at a single thing actually minimizes productivity (oooh technical!). For example I occasionally use VandalProof when I get the chance (although I am very careful with is - especially as I got approved before I should have thanks to a kind admin) or tour the RC's or New pages special pages. As such I have a very wide range of edits to all sorts of different pages. I am a member of the Mediation cabal (well if it exists) and Esperanza and believe that although Wikipedia is primarily an encyclopedia it is an excellent community as well. At the moment I am currently working on the following articles (a.k.a to do list):

  1. Micro Mart - Working on the history and modern events fo the mag. Have added picyutere and infobox. Still requires rewrite
  2. Video scaler - clean up reasearch and rewrite but information is sparse
  3. Web Designer - stub for magazine article need to expand this!!
  4. Computer magazines - expanding list of computer magazines
  5. Template:Computer Magazines - created this template from Computer magazines, again needs expanding.
  6. Computer Active - magazine article, need to start...
