[edit] License tagging for Image:Blackwater Littlebird.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Blackwater Littlebird.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:07, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:Blackwater Littlebird.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Blackwater Littlebird.jpg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD g12.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Agüeybaná 01:02, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Template:WRC team

Hey. I think this infobox looks great, so good work. I changed some of the fields to optional, so that empty fields won't be displayed in transclusions. I also added the template to Wikipedia:WikiProject World Rally#Infoboxes, so hopefully we will get more team articles in the future. On World Rally Championship, it would be good to write something about how WRC teams work. For example, the connection between Ford, BP Ford World Rally Team and M-Sport might be confusing to non-experts. Prolog 03:44, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

According to McRae's profile at RallyBase, the Ford team was entered simply as "Ford Motor Co" at least from '99 to '02. Many team names can be found browsing through rally and driver pages, and I assume they are straight from books like Martin Holmes' World Rallying annuals so the info is pretty reliable. It does seem like the information on Ford's WRT is split between M-Sport, BP-Ford, Ford and Ford Focus WRC. It's a bit annoying to the reader to have to find and check through several articles, although "See also" templates and sections help. I'm really not sure what should go where. Prolog 04:24, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Millenworks luv.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Millenworks luv.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 16:02, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rod Millen

I had his article on my To-Do list for a long time. He is a very notable racer for many reasons. I plan to write a very solid long article, and list it at the Did You Know section for the best new articles. I am familiar withoff-road racing, hillclimbing, and IMSA sports car genres, but I have a weak rallying background. Anything that you could do to expand that section would be helpful. I have much more to add, but no time right now. Keep up the great work! You can respond here on your talkpage if you have something to say. Royalbroil 14:01, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Sounds good. I'll do what I can. I know that he had a page at one point that got deleted due to crap sourcing, so I think its important to source everything really really well. Tmaull 18:16, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
I looked at what linked to the article because I thought that he was in halls of fame or raced in IROC, and I found out that the article had been a copyright violation (User talk:69.106.252.35). Royalbroil 18:28, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Millenworks luv.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Millenworks luv.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 06:08, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DYK

Updated DYK query On 16 October 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Rod Millen, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

--Royalbroil 12:58, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Congratulations on your first DYK! Thanks for all of you help with the article. The awarding was missed by the admin who updated the section on the main page, so I gave a credit to all of the nominees. It should come off the main page soon, as the minimum time is expired and the next update is ready for an admin to promote. There were no vandalisms or more surprisingly no edits to the article while it was on the main page! Royalbroil 16:49, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Nice work on JLTV. I took a look at the updated TACOM Purchase Description but frankly didn't know where to begin dissecting it so really, well done you. Does my list of candidates look accurate to you? It's what I could glean from fairly superficial and easily Googleable sources. Dino246 (talk) 20:55, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WRC images Ticket ID

I think an e-mail sent to OTRS sits at a queue until a volunteer checks and takes care of it. So sometimes getting a reply can take some time. It's definitely best to wait for the ID before uploading more images. This way the images can also be tagged with {{PermissionOTRS|id=ticketid}} while uploading. [edit] Subaru World Rally Team

Hey. The article looks really good with the cite web updates, and it certainly is well-referenced. Some suggestions: An image should be directly below a header, not above, for better usability. The article also contains a bit too many images, so maybe you should considering removing some, or moving them to the gallery section. Default thumbnail size would also be better than 150px. Really short sections and paragraphs are usually discouraged so those could be merged. Also consider dropping "season" from the headers, because with so many sections the repetition doesn't look so good.

Usage of {{-}} could be kept to minimum, because it creates whitespace and disrupts the usual "flow" of the article (this is just my opinion). The lead section could be expanded by one paragraph (maybe something about titles and drivers). The "Former drivers" list section seems unnecessary, because the history section covers this. I would not capitalize "Managing Director", "Constructors' Championship" and similar, since the Wikipedia convention is to use lowercase for common nouns. As a non-native English speaker, I don't really want to comment on the prose much, but it seemed fine and the article looks like it would meet the GA criteria. Thanks, Prolog (talk) 23:56, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
