[edit] Problems happen when the user name has spaces

When I pass links to my user box templates (listed at on my user box list), it breaks the various <small> links. Is there a way to fix that without converting my links to replace the spaces with underscores? I have used it many times and just recently figured out what the problem was. You are stuck converting the spaces to an underscore because of the way MediaWiki uses a space as a marker for the link name. For example, with your user name (and mine) on the "links" link upon substitution, you get:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Whatlinkshere/User:Gogo Dodo&limit=500 links
MediaWiki finds the first space, which happens to be the space in my user name and then parses everything after that as the link name. So you're stuck replacing the spaces in user names with underscores. -- Gogo Dodo 06:38, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Can't you use {{FULLPAGENAMEE}}? Can you pass it a page name rather than using the current page? Will (Talk - contribs) 07:15, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
