[edit] Pronunciation

Can someone please give this a proper IPA pronunciation notation, rather than this roundabout information on how to pronounce the word? Thanks. - Jmabel | Talk 07:19, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Why the removal

An anon has now twice removed "Typically, Tkhines invoke God's blessings, ask for purification from evil thoughts, and mention the biblical matriarchs as models of righteousness. [Liptzin, 1972, 15]" What is the problem with this well-cited sentence? - Jmabel | Talk 06:27, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Debate

Why is that debate and critique included in the entry of the article and not here in the discussion room? (Ezra (talk) 13:05, 27 February 2008 (UTC))

[edit] Mainstream

Doesn't the use of the term "mainstream" when we refer only to light-skinned European Jews assume white/Euro privilege?

Not necessarily - prior to the Holocaust Ashkenazi Jews made up 90% of World Jewry[1]. What was mainstream there may largely be said to be normativley Jewish in that time. (Ezra (talk) 13:05, 27 February 2008 (UTC))
