Tommy Jay Gardner (born on December 30, 1974, in Winchester, Virginia, U.S.) is an American guitarist and Drummer. His debut album, Livefire in 1993, opened the way to a world of his instrumental rock music in what was then a pop-dominated world. Influenced heavily by Joe Satriani, Def Leppard and Pink Floyd, TJ Gardner often incorporates a warm sound of guitar with a dominant melodic rock tone. Since 1993, he has used the Ibanez brand guitar, which is widely sold in stores. Until 2003 when he switched to the Jackson series guitar.


In 1988, TJ Gardner was recruited by various local bands in his hometown of Keyser, West Virginia playing drums for such bands as Cryogenic warfare, Machines of agony, Stomp Faction, Dreamscape Later, in 1993, Gardner started up his own solo career in Instrumental rock, Gardner has also worked with a wide range of guitarists from many styles, including RedeyeC, Valkir, Paul Oakley, in the mixposure.com M3 Jam Concepts.


TJ Gardner was inspired to play guitar at age 14 after learning of piano. Gardner had been playing drums since 1979, and had always admired music in general. How ever Gardner had not become as serious about playing guitar until he had heard of the death of Def Leppard guitarist Stephen Maynard Clark. He reportedly heard the news after waking up on January 8, 1991. In 1991, Gardner studied music with instrumental rock guitarist Joe Satriani. The technically demanding style greatly influenced Gardner's playing.


In 1993, TJ Gardner released the independently produced album Livefire. The album did not to too well, particularly due to sound equipment. Then in 1996, Joined up with local group Dreamscape, which would play a major roll years later. Expanding Gardner's influence in several styles of music genre's.


In 2006 TJ Gardner had joined up with mixposure.com's international group M3, along side guitarist RedeyeC, Valkir, and Paul Oakley. M3 released many #1 hits back to back, in the independent music underground. Also later that year Gardner released his solo album crush. Which had many tracks that would make him well known by other musicians, and fans around the world such as moving up, the path, in the dark, never 2 things the same, Tears of the angels, and more.

Over the next several years, TJ Gardner regularly recorded and released new music, as well as joining up with Dreamscapes Lou Stone, and Stomp faction guitarist and brother John Gardner, who would later be replaced by bassist Alex Steele, to form the band Thorezeen. Thorezeen are currently working on their debut album entitled Highly medicated, which has received numerous reviews already by the independent music underground.
