[edit] A Question

{{helpme}} To whoever may respond to this question: I recently made an edit to Abraham Kuyper:

  • 16:36, 6 February 2008 Tjbergsma (Talk | contribs) (25,952 bytes) (→Religious Life) (undo)

Somehow, large parts have disappeared from the article underneath the section that I have edited, and I cannot find out how or why.

Thank-you Tjbergsma (talk) 16:53, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Fixed. It was an unclosed ref tag, the most common source of this problem. Algebraist 17:25, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Question over Infobox data

{{helpme}}

I have a question over the "Infobox Person" in the article Hendrik de Cock. Behind his birth date in brackets it says "(age 206)". I am assuming that is generated somehow because it cannot be edited out. But obviously if he's already died, than he can't be 206... so does anyone have any info on the Infobox? Thanks Tjbergsma (talk) 01:48, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

I've fixed the problem. Thanks for notifying us! Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 02:08, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Don't mention it. :) Happy to have helped, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 02:32, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] My editing

While i salute you in your attempts to clean up wikipedia, and i understand why you were required to take down me edit; Clayton Bennett really is satan. If you look at the evil things he is doing to a great fan base by moving away a team thats been there for 41 years while he bought it with the full intent to move it, then he seems pretty satanic. While i apologize for speaking my opinion on wikipedia, what i said is probably true. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.111.195.120 (talk) 03:28, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Clayton Bennett

Thank you. I'm not even a Sonics fan and i think its horrible. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.111.195.120 (talk) 04:46, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Soverign Grace Ministries

  • I was the one who placed the tag calling for more sources. Would you agree that the tag should be changed to a tag requiring more sources other than primary sources? Steve Crossin (talk) 05:34, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
  • Sorry, I've been rather busy reverting vandalism with Huggle. And as a result, my user page was vandalised. Yay?

Anyway, I have no personal opinions on the article, to be honest. I have to have a neutral point of view, and I think, definetly, the article has enough sources. However, conflict of interest needs to be addressed. And some of the sources..I think their reliability could be disputed. Steve Crossin (talk) 17:19, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Every source there is a well-known magazine (Charisma, CT) or a well-known author, or an official website. The criticism reference are not paper-published but they are on Wordpress and the hit count is unalterable by the manager of the website: 80,000 people have definitely visited it in 3 months. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Look2008 (talkcontribs) 18:49, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Could you have a look at the SGM talk page? I'm attempting to mediate the dispute, informally obviously, and would like each editor to put their opinion/statement on the talk page. Thanks. Steve Crossin (talk) 12:14, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Do I sleep?

Yes, I sleep occasionally. I'm using Huggle to revert vandalism. And, I'm getting sick of vandals. I've joined the Counter Vandalism Unit, and I right now have a zero-tolerance to vandals, whatsoever. But, I havent slept in...48hours, at least. Too busy reverting vandalism. [edit] my edit to hat

it was quite funny though :)

[edit] Shamrock Texas verification of facts.

<I have gone back and added links to various local media articles verifying the facts of the corruption that literally makes Shamroc a dangerous place for anyone not willing to participate in the drug industry. I was working on doing this when you deleted my work as it was in progress.

[edit] More Shamrorock, Texas...

No. It is I who should apologize. Please forgive me for I am new here. (Even though that is no excuse.)

I do so very much appreciate your showing me how to cite references and so forth and I apologize for my previous indiscretions...

Just as I have italicized this text and have made no fewer than three attempts at correcting it... Sorry!

[edit] An edit

I think the last sentence of this edit of yours at User talk:Mikkalai was unconstructive. --Coppertwig (talk) 14:27, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your message. I see. I didn't know before what you were reacting to. Quite understandable. Still, we have to find ways to move forward and try to improve situations. Note how this edit, for example, criticizes behaviour without stepping over the line and criticizing the person himself. Thanks again. --Coppertwig (talk) 21:20, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The Shamrock page again...

Tjbergsma, I want to thank you for fixing the page again. Beliebe it or not, someone had taken down a majority of what we have both done. I tried to put back a copy of what I had rchived but, unfortunately, it was a version from before your edits (which are very much more proper than are mine). Thanks! (I have now saved a copy as you have left it.)

[edit] Hello

just stopped by to say hi. 75.144.70.141 (talk) 17:27, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re:User:Mikkalai

His page is on my watchlist because he's been trolled quite a bit. I'm not going to follow him around checking up on his edits, (There's already enough people who are doing that as it is), and I'm not saying he is the poster child for the policies on WP:NPOV and WP:CIVIL, but I will revert obvious trolling any time I see it. --OnoremDil 16:38, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mediator comments pending

  • This is just a general note, I am going to be delivering my thoughts soon. It is not binding, nor will it be the end of discussion. It is my suggestion, I have spent a long time thinking about this, and have also received advice on this matter. I would ask that you consider my thoughts, and respond to them accordingly, please keep an open mind. Thanks. Steve Crossin (talk) 16:40, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mediation

Just a note, I have made a recommendation on the Sovereign Grace talk page, I recommend you review it. Please, I must stress, my recommendation is not binding, only the Arbitration Committee can make binding decisions. That said, I have done my best to make a fair recommendation, and I would like you to review this, and give your comments below my statement. Thanks again, Steve Crossin (talk) 23:41, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mediation

You do realise these are exceptional circumstances, and there are strict conditions in order to have it included? Also note the complexity of this case. If I said "no", I would have been taking sides, and no good would have been done. And vice versa. I considered this for a long period of time, also got advice from a former arbitrator. Mediation is about compromise. However, if they do not meet the standard I noted, the link will not be allowed. Are you agreeable to this? Reply on the SGM talk page, thanks. Steve Crossin (talk) 14:08, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Shamrock, Texas

Thank you for the message you posted [1] on my talk page. I blocked 216.167.133.217 (talk · contribs) and protected the article as per the WP:AIV report [2] filed by Collectonian (talk · contribs). Let me investigate the situation in more depth and get back to you. --Kralizec! (talk) 00:54, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Hello again, I'd look into the dispute myself, but I'm a little busy at the moment, I'm mediating an Israel-Palestine dispute at the moment. However, I'd suggest you ask User:Doug, see if they can help you out. Sorry I can't address this myself. Regards, Steve Crossin (talk) 01:17, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Glad I could be of service! While I agree with you that more specific warnings could have been issued to the IP -{{uw-npov1}} would have been good, as would {{uw-unsourced1}}, {{uw-nor1}}, and especially {{uw-biog1}}- however personal attacks such as this are highly inappropriate. --Kralizec! (talk) 02:24, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Shamrock Texas (Again)

I am not at all that familiar with your "system" of politics here so, please forgive me if I "cross over" some imaginary "line" that is not very clearly drawn for me to see. My question is as follows:

In the "Harassment will not be tolerated" statement that was sent me, I had put forth my OPINION that, just pehaps, the representatives of local media in Shamrock Texas would be forced to resort to hiring individuals to aid us in the correction of the vandalism of our city references as shown on you site.

Could some kind-hearted individual PLEASE take the time to explain to me just exactly how this can be considered any more "harrassing" than the constant deletion of information that is extremely pertinent to our community and that has been verified by many numerous governmental and media sources?

I'm NOT trying to be a "pain" but, the information sincerely is a "part of the community" and, as do many who live here, we feel that it is our only "claim to fame" in the world. (The Rick Roach drug conspiracy was the first and only time Shamrock was ever mentioned in the New York Times.)

Why can these vital (and documented) facts not be left to stand? Are you so selective that you only want your own version of the "facts" available? If that is the case, I need to approach our town council about having you remove the Shamrock Texas page altogether.

Can someone please explain this to me? It is all I ask. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.167.143.152 (talk) 03:00, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Believe me, I put effort into making sure that the article and your edits were receiving a fair shake. However, as you can see from the final decision on the article's talk page, your edits cannot stand. Please read that response carefully and click on all the links which the Wikipedia Administrator gives -- and then read those links. That will spell things out more clearly for you. That being said, a source such as the New York Times (the ExACT article, not just a link to it's front page) would be quite credible . Hope that helps, Berg Drop a Line ޗ pls 03:30, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 206.82.19.62 at it again

I've fixed a number of silly vandalisms by this IP again. I suggest doing whatever is necessary to keep them from wasting our time again. AlanM1 (talk) 12:16, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Free Reformed Church of North America

Hello,

I have restored the statement "The seminary prohibits women from studying in its Master of Divinity program." to the Free Reformed Church of North America page. You had removed it, claiming I was misquoting the article. This point was clearly stated in the article.

Also, do you have an electronic copy of the article you could link to? I do not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jdeboer (talkcontribs) 21:55, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi Jdeboer. I am afraid that you are incorrect. I have read the article and it says that women are allowed permitted they don't use their degree to become ordained ministers. I will look for an electronic version of the article, but all I have is the physical one which the seminary has. Berg Drop a Line ޗ pls 01:55, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
