Wii Startup Disk: Proposition

Actually, there is a link for the AV cables....

It explains how they work! —Shanesan (contribs) (Talk) 20:41, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

The speculation part of Wii Startup Disk has been removed, as per why we got rid of the deletion notice. The disk is going to be in there, thats not speculation. It's dated, it's sourced, it should not be deleted. —Shanesan (contribs) (Talk) 21:53, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

The Startup Disk could have a world of uses. It could help you format your Wii when you accidently break the software, it could update the firmware, it could teach you how to use the remote, it could do all thrree and the Startup Disk wiki will grow as we receive more information. As it is, the wiki has too much information as it is to move it into the Wii wiki, and it has a high chance to expand. If the wiki saves even one person from throwing the disk away, it'll be worth it. —Shanesan (contribs) (Talk) 22:06, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

About Grand Slam Championship

I want to suggest about WCW Grand Slam Championship, Which you delete content about them. You said "WCW never had grand slam" however, WCW can count the Grand Slam Champion because it had WCW World Television Championship that as same as WWE European Championship even if WCW didn't annouce about Grand Slam Champion.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Kankawin25013 (talkcontribs)

Armaggedon Poster

I found the poster on Gerweck.net would you consider that a reliable source. Gerweck has been right about all of the promo posters so far. Jayorz12 23:18, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Yeah I looked on wwe.com where the other posters are and I didn't see it so I'll wait. I already uploaded it so if it is the real poster it won't have to be uploaded again. Jayorz12 23:39, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Championship Reigns

Not sure how to best explain this, but in the case of AJ Styles winning the X Division Championship from Chris Sabin, you'd use the date that the show was aired rather than when it was taped because no one would know otherwise unless everyone was at the taping to see it. Even the announcers would acknowledge that the wrestler won his or her title the last time the show aired on TV, rather than when it was actually taped. Do you understand what I'm saying? vDub 08:05, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't know if you're ignoring me or what, but like I said before, championship reigns are acknowledged as having started on the airdate that they win the title. As far the X Division title is concerned, you can look at the official TNA X Division Championship title history if you want by going here. It is done this way with any WWE title reigns as well, so I'd appreciate it if you would stop changing the dates back to the taping dates. vDub 23:53, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

No, they don't. It is done by when it's shown on TV. Like I said, it's always been done that way with WWE title reigns. vDub 00:12, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Trust me buddy, I've been doing this a lot longer than you have. Wikipedia has ALWAYS listed them as having been won on the airdate. vDub 00:27, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Champion of Champions match

What exactly do you have against the name!? WWE mentions it clearly, so there is no reason to change it back (again). The battle royal at the Royal Rumble PPV is called Royal Rumble, divas battle royal (at Cyber Sunday 2005)is called fulfill your fantasy, and so on. Just because you seem to hate the name, doesn't justify removing the official title of the match. Also, it may just be a one time thing, but WWE still gives it a special name... there is absolutely no reason to leave it out, period. RobJ1981 04:04, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

The ECW Title

Hey TJ its Belevsquad here and just wanted to ask you if the page on the ECW World Heavyweight Championship should be changed to the ECW World Championship because thats how it is reffered to usually on TV and WWE.com. Belevsquad 08:06, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Wii

Stop reverting the Wii userbox! You need to be mature about this, and actually discuss it. If you think it's ugly, propose a design that wouldn't be, and would actually be accurate. The USA flag should never stand for NA and SA alike. Scepia 00:43, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

It has the JPN and USA text for accessibility to blind people. But you honestly think it's ugly? The one that's the standard is inaccurate - the USA flag does not represent NA and SA. We don't have a week to decide this - Wii is coming out on the 19th. That's 2 weeks away, and we can't wait much longer to have a good UBX. Scepia 00:53, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
Nice, now people that view the article will have to look at the links to see what SPN and ITL stands for. Scepia 00:59, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
Is all you care about the rules? I don't care if it got CVG approval. You can shove that in my face all you want, but it doesn't matter. The fact is, people can read flags much faster than hovering their mouse over the link. Scepia 03:08, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
Don't spew lies. The old template was misleading. It represented NA and SA with the USA flag. I was correcting it. I never, ever tried to make it ugly, and you know that. Do not lie. Scepia 03:16, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Weight

Rey Mysterio was the lightest champion thats why it was just called the World Championship. At 7ft 500lbs and hes called the World Champ? Thats why it shouldnt be Heavyweight Championship. Look on TV look at their website and you'll see Belevsquad 04:37, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Survivor Series

Don't give me more bullshit, Spyke. One-sided challenges aren't listed until they've been accepted. It adheres to only listing things that have been officially announced on WWE.com and on TV, and since Mr. Kennedy vs. Undertaker isn't listed on the official Survivor Series page, it doesn't get listed in the Wikipedia article until it does appear there. vDub 21:11, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

I am being civil, Spyke. I know how Wikipedia works. vDub 21:16, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
You're trying to tell me you're right, yet you were wrong about the X Division Championship when it comes to listing title reigns since it was apparent the term 'kayfabe' was lost on you. Wikipedia has a policy about not listing any wrestling matches that have not been officially announced. Mr. Kennedy vs. Undertaker has not been officially announced as occurring on either TV or WWE.com, and therefore should not be listed in the article. However, I believe it would be more fitting to remove the Mr. Kennedy vs. Undertaker part and simply say that Mr. Kennedy challenged Undertaker to a match at Survivor Series and that Taker has yet to respond. vDub 21:23, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
The dates on the page you mentioned would have to be fixed then, but I give up since neither of us are willing to agree on a compromise. vDub 21:30, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
I wouldn't know much about that. vDub 21:48, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
I agree with vDub, challenges should not be listed as scheduled matches. The page clearly states that only officially announced matches should be listed. You are clearly wrong in this case but are obviously to egotistical to listen to reason. GShton 20:59, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
I should have someone intervene with this matter. I think challenges should only be listed depending on the circumstances, like if it were an open invitation or something. By having "Mr. Kennedy vs. Undertaker" on the page, it implies that the match will happen even though nothing official has been announced and the page states only officially announced matches should be listed. vDub 21:23, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Exactly, I dont have a problem with it being mentioned, my problem is with the fact that it is listed under "Matches", perhaps we could move the information to another section? GShton 21:44, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Take a look now, what do you think? TJ Spyke 21:53, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
While it is a step in the right direction I would feel better about this if it was listed under its own subsection or in the main paragraph.GShton 22:10, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Reconsider vote for Dr.S. Hussain Zaheer Memorial High School

I would like to ask you to reconsider your creation of the AfD for Dr.S. Hussain Zaheer Memorial High School. With a little bit of research, it is clear that the school is indeed notable, and the additional information has been added to the article with material from the school's web site and several references from The Hindu, India's main national newspaper. With its management and operation by the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, the school has a unique science program that allows students to learn from India's top scientists, and to have heard from several recent Nobel Prize in Chemistry laureates. The school competes in, and has won, at the top levels of sport in the state. I strongly suggest that all those who previously voted to Delete should re-read the article and reconsider their vote. Width of images in Infobox CVG

Hello, can't help but noticing you've been changing image widths in Infobox CVG from 256px to 250px. On all the computers I use to test, 256px provides nearly perfect symmetry on all four sides of the image, and 250 leads to an ugly disparity between left/right and top/bottom buffer widths. Are your findings different? I know it seems like a very nitpicky issue, but I'm totally OCD about these kinds of symmetries :) --Ecksemmess 09:41, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the reply. The symmetry problems are definitely an issue in IE, not just firefox. For an example of what I'm seeing, please see this image: [1] As you can see, in the image on the left (250px), the buffer space on the left and right is considerably wider than the buffer space on the top and bottom. Doesn't it look better to have equal buffer space on all four sides, as in the image on the right (256px)? If the 250 and 256 examples in my image don't match what comes up on your system, please let me know. It's been the same on every system/browser I've tested.
If Infobox CVG policy is to use 250 instead of 256, please direct me to where this is stated to be the case, and I'll take it up with them. Thanks! --Ecksemmess 23:36, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Italicizing

This is pretty pointless to be arguing over, so I'm just going to get my point across. PPV's are shows. Just like RAW and SmackDown!. They may be events, but RAW is an event also. Survivor Series

Look, I don't want to get into an edit war, least of all over something asinine like Lita's retirement. However, it was notable enough to warrant discussion on the official website, and seeing as how it's clearly not "kayfabe", I think it warrants at least a mention on the page. If it turns out it was all a ruse, the page can be changed after the event; that's the beauty of Wikipedia. But for now, I suggest it stay up, and according to the talk page, I'm not the only one who thinks so, whereas you're the only one reverting it as "non-notable" or "vandalism". Just think about it. Anthony Hit me up... 04:21, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

I created a survey at the Survivor Series talk page about this. If I need to create a survey everytime TJ doesn't agree with something, I guess I will have to. Talking to him and discussing it with him, gets no where. The articles are for everyone to edit. Accept other's edits more often, one person's opinion shouldn't be dominating every article. I really think you need to tone it down on this controlling articles thing. Your really going to far. This is a free encyclopedia. Not TJ Spyke's encyclopedia. I have seen that you have had bad interactions with people in the past just because their edits don't suit your needs. Other people are allowed to edit articles, not just you. So, if someone comes along and edits what you have done to the article, and its a good edit, and you don't like it then don't just revert it. I know your a good editor, and revert vandalism constantly, but your really starting to get to people.

What, when somebody goes into an entire paragraph for 1 match despite the warning? Or removing the italics for PPV's (per WM:MOS (Titles)? TJ Spyke 04:36, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
What!? A whole paragraph? What are you on. I added how the result came to be, not a whole paragraph. I added about 8-10 words at the most. What you want is pretty dull and overused. Its the same sentence over and over.
All it says is Jeff won on this night. Jeff lost on this night. Jeff won again on this night. So, I added about 5 more words to each sentence. Is that a crime?
And please point out to me in MOS where it says what you are trying to get across. --  Mikedk9109  (talk)  04:47, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Not you particular, but some editors have gone into great detail just for 1 match. Here is about italics: Wikipedia:Manual of Style (titles). TJ Spyke 04:53, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Where does it say anything about PPV's in there? --  Mikedk9109  (talk)  04:56, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Exactley. That says what should be put in italics, and PPV's don't fall anywhere in there. TV shows like RAW and SmackDown do though. Don't worry about me reverting your other edits to Jeff Hardy. I just wanted to make sure it was clean. TJ Spyke 04:59, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm going to bring up a discussion on this at the MOS (titles) talk page. And get other peoples opinions on this. --  Mikedk9109  (talk)  05:07, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Why?

Why did you delete my survivor series logo? It's the Official logo! It's not vandalism.

From socks_01

Because TJ doesn't think it's real, so he deleted it. Same goes for the New Year's Revolution poster. It's been on several sites, that's enough proof. It's not doing any harm by being on the article. People aren't saying "that's fake, the article is totally wrecked now" or anything like that. When/if a different poster appears that is actually real, then the "alleged" fake one should be removed (and not anytime before). RobJ1981 19:58, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Rob, if you had read Sock's talk page you would see that it was an accident. Also, putting in a poster that has no proof of being real hurts an article. When the real poster is announced it can be added in, until then it should be blank. TJ Spyke 21:23, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Survivor Series

Can you give me the SS results, please KingOfDX 01:22, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Troll

Hey TJ, there's a troll on the Wrestling event Infobox that continues to add the buyrate field, ignoring the consensus opposed only by McPhail. Think you could help me out here? -- bulletproof 3:16 01:50, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Blocked

You have been blocked for continuing to edit war on WWE New Year's Revolution. -- Steel 23:32, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Getting blocked for reverting vandalism. Yeah, that's real fair. Rob is the one who should be blocked because he keeps vandalizing the page by putting in a poster without any source for it being real. TJ Spyke 23:36, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
You've been warring over that for days and were blocked for it last week. Whether the poster is real or not, by this point it should have been clear that continuing to revert and remove it wasn't getting anywhere. You had plenty of opportunity to discuss it on talk, bring it to the attention of the wrestling wikiproject, request protection to cool off, etc. -- Steel 23:47, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
I have talked to Rob about this. He keeps saying the poster should stay even if it's fake, which hurts the article. 48 hours is way too long considering I was helping the article by removing a poster that Rob even admitted could be fake. Why isn't he being blocked as well? I have put up with BS before, but this block is in no way fair. TJ Spyke 23:51, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Like I just said, it was clear that simply continuing to revert wasn't going to achieve anything. We have a dispute resolution process. -- Steel 00:05, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
Why isn't Rob blocked as well? I tried to compromise and he is the one who wouldn't listen, demanding the poster be there even if it's fake. TJ Spyke 01:16, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
It's been more than 48 hours, and my block was only 48 hours. So why can I still not edit? TJ Spyke 23:40, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
From what I can see you autoblocked yourself. It's now been lifted. -- Steel 23:50, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
The poster is legit, as anyone with a WWEAffiliates.com account can tell you.
