[edit] Move an Article

You declined the speedy delete on Beautiful Stories from Shakespeare and said it should probably be moved to wikiquote or wikibook, what is the process for doing this? IMO the article as it stands has no encyclopedic value at the moment thanks.BigDunc (talk) 21:05, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Awarding Barnstar

The Barnstar of Good Humor
Aprils fools day was a blast. Loads of users lightened up to have good old fashion fun. I want to thank you for taking part in editing this page in particular and even though I may not know you, embrace the same talk pages, or even edit with you in the near future, I'd like to award you this Barnstar for making Wikipedia a fun environment in which to contribute. Until next year. :) SynergeticMaggot (talk) 14:10, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Potters School Speedy

Fair enough. Given they put a hangon tag on it and said it was under expansion I'm inclinded to wait a while before deciding whether to start an afd or not. --BrucePodger (talk) 21:59, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy Delete of Sparrows Hearne turnpike

You declined the speedy delete of Sparrows Hearne turnpike on the basis that redirects are cheap (agreed). I'd like you to reconsider because it's now been marked as an alternative spelling, which it's not. On maps it's HERNE, in the 1762 Act it's HERNE. It's never been HEARNE. I was going to make a point about it causing ambiguation with a real Sparrows HEARNE in Basildon but on investigation it appears that one's a typo too. Thanks. Bazj (talk) 08:40, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Pen-y-Garn & Rhydypennau

Dear Tivedshambo

I thought I’d just let you know that I’ve made some changes to the entries for Pen-y-Garn and Rhydypennau. Firstly as there is a village in Torfaen called Penygarn and a hamlet in Carmarthenshire called Pen-y-garn, I moved the original Pen-y-Garn to Pen-y-garn, Ceredigion. I’ve also changed the second element from having a capital ‘G’ to a small ‘g’, in line with the spelling used by the Ordnance Survey, who appear to have it listed as a ‘village’. I’ve also made the original page into a ‘disambiguation page’, and tried to make all the alterative spellings into redirects. As for Rhydypennau, there turns out to be an area of Cardiff with the same name, so again I’ve moved the original Rhydypennau to Rhydypennau, Ceredigion, made the original a ‘disambiguation page’ and any alternative spellings into redirects. At least I hope I’ve managed to do all of this! Perhaps you would be good enough to give it the once over to make sure?

Many thanks Lepidus Magnus (talk) 10:43, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 'ndrine

Wikipedia is now supporting incorrect spelling, excellent !!! The plural of 'ndrina is 'ndrine, which is explained here, but you rather keep the mistake. That will greatly increase the reliability of the project. I am afraid I am going to insist. - Mafia Expert (talk) 10:02, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Hey, thanks for taking care of Skypunch40 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log). Would you mind going through his contributions and deleting all his pages, if that's not what you're doing already? As an (inactive) admin, I know the occasional thanks makes RC patrol and vandalism cleanup more bearable, so thanks! Keep it up! 140.247.237.120 (talk) 22:20, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Protection of page needed

[edit] Talyllyn Railway maps

Hi Tivedshambo. I've managed to convert the three TR maps to SVG format. They look pretty good and are much smaller. There are a couple of issues. One the Template:Talyllyn Map is no longer clickable. Could you take a look at that? The other is that your request to the Graphics Lab is now unnecessary - I thought it would make sense for you to withdraw this if you're happy with the new SVG versions. Best, Gwernol 22:30, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AIV

Sorry for the delay in responding (I just plain forgot). Thanks for the note. Skeezix1000 (talk) 11:36, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Corris Map

Hi Tivedshambo. Yes, I'm working on a new version of the Corris Railway map, which will be much more detailed and include local geography, in a similar style to the TR map. I'll be adding this as an SVG, now I have the tools to do the conversion. I hope to have this by next weekend. Best, Gwernol 18:23, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Signature Mix-up

Sorry about the confusion; I was having markup trouble and copied your raw text to grab the correct formatting for the article reference. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sahrin (talkcontribs) 00:29, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] NBR Page

Hi there, Just want to clear up a few things. I'm the webmaster of the North Bay Railway website, and have been discussing with the managing director the WIKI page for our website. Am not entirely sure what to reference throughs (not very good at WIKI I'm afriad), but the information on that page is incorrect. The CCLR has been associated with the line on a very informal basis, but the line has always been operated and owned by the North Bay Railway Company, since being taken over. What should I reference this to? The manager?!!!

Thanks Peter

[edit] Your AWB edits

Hi Tivedshambo, please avoid making insignificant edits using AutoWikiBrowser as you have been doing (five examples: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]; there are many more I could have shown you). By asking for approval to use AWB, you agree to abide by the rules stated at Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage#Guide which states 'Avoid making insignificant minor edits', and your use of the tool has broken this. Further use in this way may result in your registration being revoked. Edits such as these do not improve the pages in a beneficial way (such as a spelling fix would) and use up capacity and sever space. Please consider selecting the 'Skip if no typos fixed' option to avoid making edits such as these. Please ask if you have any questions. Thanks, mattbr 19:24, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] FAC

Please see the FAC instructions which say that the FAC director (or delegates) will remove the nomination from the list, but the bot just does all the hard work of actually archiving it all. To emphasise, the bot did not close the FAC. Regards. Woody (talk) 12:38, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism by User:Tropicanmanofthesea

With reference to this - It is indeed vandalism, although somewhat subtle. The version of the article that is being pushed by this editor looks at first glance like a reasonable text, but it is in fact utter nonsense, and the page has been under attack in this way for three months. I assume it is all the same person, though it started as a series of anon IPs and the username was only registered yesterday. I have several times reverted the page to remove the extensive fiction that keeps getting added. I have put a note on the talk page pointing out some of the evidence that it is vandalism. The offending editor does not engage in that discussion, but simply keeps reverting. Next time I will give him one more final warning - and then where should I report it? Thanks. Snalwibma (talk) 11:56, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Welsh learners' corner

Thanks for your support. Could be a while till I make time for much myself, but as I said in the Caffi there will be others out there too! — Alan 06:58, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AIV Talk.

Hmm, I thought I saw your name before, and then I saw this. Anyway, I replied to your comment here. Hope to hear from you soon. Cheers, Steve Crossin (talk) (anon talk) 22:08, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
