can i know more about tissue culture thank you
I've slightly revised the page to provide a strong link to cell culture. It may be worth merging the two pages based on the common modern use of tissue culture, but technically it does better encompass the processes of organ culture and explant culture than cell culture does.

The two articles should be fused. The cell culture history starts with organ culture basically rather than the hanging lymph drop. GetAgrippa 18:46, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
This article needs development. Alex Carrol, Gey, Hanks,Vogt and Dulbecco, Todarro and Green, etc. a long list of names and contributions to tissue culture and understanding transformed cells and carcinogenesis, contact inhibition, normal cells -Hayflicks senescence, heterkaryons and chimeras,3T3 cells, Hela Cells, SV-40 transformation, growth in agar, growth in liquid medium, etc. I took a bunch of tissue culture courses during my Master's and I'm trying to remember from decades ago.GetAgrippa 22:04, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
I noted the cell cuture article history starts with Ringer's. There should be a whole section of media and now defined media and substrates and the specific effects of each. Water quality and the discovery of micronutrients essential to cells would a worthy effort selenium, etc. GetAgrippa 18:46, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Organogenesis and culture experimentation should also be added to tissue culture. Tissue culture should be divided into animal and plant, and organ, tissue, cell. Methods to synchronize cells, label cells, etc. could also be added. Tissue culture is such a useful model and applies to so many fields (agriculture, medicine, basic) I am surprised by the lack of development. GetAgrippa 18:53, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] "how to" section
I've just reverted a long "how to" guide for several reasons:
- It was written in a "how to" procedural style, rather than an encyclopedic style.
- It is largely redundant with material on the cell culture page, plus the material largely referred to mammalian cell culture practices so it should go on the cell culture page.
- The whole section was in my opinion overly detailed for a page which has scant detail on the reasons for and the types of tissue culture. Perhaps this information could go on new page cell culture procedures or cell culture practices?

[edit] man whore cells?
It is often used interchangeably with cell culture to specifically describe the in vitro culturing of man whore cells
What? Is there some other usage for the word "whore" that I'm not aware of?
