Tirupathur is a panchayat town in Sivaganga district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

As of 2001 India census[1], Tirupathur had a population of 23,354. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Tirupathur has an average literacy rate of 77%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 83%, and female literacy is 72%. In Tirupathur, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
