Tirpa

Tirpa S.R.L. is a Transnistrian shoe component company which produces shoe molds. It is located in (and gets its name from) Tiraspol, the capital of Transnistria. It was established in 1988. In 2005, it had 139 employees and in 2006, it increased the number of employees to 150.

Tirpa is an Italian-Transnistrian joint venture co-owned by Tirpa’s workers, who own 68.3 percent of the shares in the company, Ottogalli, a Padua-based company with a 26.7 percent share. Its manager, the Italian national Giovanni Panzarasa, owns the remaining 5 percent.

98 percent of Tirpa's production is exported. Its customers include Adidas, Nike, Reebok and Ecco. It earned approximately $1 million in revenues in 2005.
