As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 248 people, 102 households, and 75 families residing in the town. The population density was 172.4 people per square mile (66.5/km²). There were 117 housing units at an average density of 81.3/sq mi (31.4/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 96.37% White, 2.02% from other races, and 1.61% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.81% of the population.
There were 102 households out of which 25.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.7% were married couples living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.5% were non-families. 20.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.43 and the average family size was 2.84.
In the town the population was spread out with 21.4% under the age of 18, 4.4% from 18 to 24, 21.0% from 25 to 44, 30.2% from 45 to 64, and 23.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 46 years. For every 100 females there were 105.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.0 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $36,964, and the median income for a family was $47,639. Males had a median income of $27,500 versus $16,806 for females. The per capita income for the town was $18,750. About 4.7% of families and 5.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.2% of those under the age of eighteen and 15.3% of those sixty five or over.
