OK, so supposedly this song is written about how Cuomo would feel guilty because of fucking groupies. I don't see the source of that anywhere, and I've never even remotely heard or read something similar. Plus, in the article "Rivers Cuomo" it says that himself stated that "Weezer never had any serious groupies anyway." Not knowing the moral constition of Cuomo, that's all but it stills seems highly unreasonable that the song is about that. In my opinion, part of it is of course about the sailor thing in Madama Butterfly but I also feel the song is critical on sexual promiscuity. And I clearly remember, though do not remember the source itself, that Rivers originally thought about this song as a joke.

Anyone care to explain, or give the source?


There's nothing in Madama Butterfly about a sex-addicted sailor. I'm removing the references to the opera, since they're completely groundless. The album is, obviously, but the song itself doesn't appear to be, unless someone provides direct sourcing. In fact, I guess the same goes for the part about groupies.
