[edit] A-5 Effec. Range
Is there any way I can increase the effective range on my A-5 without a flatline barrel? --SacredVisions 22:05, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
I don't know of one, but I'm not sure if this would be a good place to find answers to that anyway. Bpogi92 02:27, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
---The a5 w/ standard barrel -150ft ---w/ flatline -200ft ---w/ Apex some people got 300ft+
If you want to get extra range be sure your Tippman is shooting between 240 and 260 FPS not the max range of 280. Trust me, you'll get not only more range but better consistancy. Also shooting HPA instead of CO2 will definately work better. --Jbell10287 17:03, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] ATF C-3 Investigation
"The C-3 is currently being reviewed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) due to the firing mechanism. The C-3 uses a small spark to ignite the propane and propel the paintball down the barrel. The ATF has agreed not to prosecute any sellers or purchasers of the C-3 until their review is complete."
I think something that says buyers and sellers could be prosecuted should definitly have a link attached with it... has anyone else heard about this?
hey i'm not sure about it, but i did a serch on the ATF's website for the Tippmann C-3 and nothing came up, so......

Umm i did a bunch of searches, and i came up with nothing but heresay. And even that heresay said that the ATF wouldn't do anything because of something or other rules, and it doesn't violate rules, and something about black powder guns as an example. Anyway I'm gonna wait a bit, and if nobody disagree's i'm gonna remove and/or reword it.

[edit] Cleanup
Hello, everyone. I came over from the main paintball articles for a moment to see how this page was faring, and the first word that struck me was: Cleanup. I'm going to put up the tag, because this article really needs it. I'm really busy with my other projects; otherwise I'd try my hand.
A couple things I noticed are that the article's overall tone is very disjointed, which is to be expected of most Wikipedia articles, since they are edited by so many people. The first introductory sentence itself is disjointed: "Tippmann Sports is primarily a manufacturer of paintball markers and accessories, though they began to make Airsoft guns, too." Yes, all of that's true, but instead, it could be written: "Tippmann Sports is a manufacturer of paintball markers, paintball equipment and airsoft guns", or any number of ways. You'll note, however, that it is not nearly as disjointed as it was.
Another suggestion: convert the lists with dashes (-5000RPS cycling rate, -8 ounces overall weight, etc) into lists with bullets, like this: *5000 RPS cycling rate, *8 ounces overall weight.
Dashes
-5000 RPS cycling rate
-8 ounces overall weight
Bullets
- 5000 RPS cycling rate
- 8 ounces overall weight
Looks much better, doesn't it? Anyway, small cosmetic details like that could do wonders here. Good luck! ~ Maximilli, 18:42, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
hey just for everybody's information i've decided i'm gonna concentrate on this article for a little while. i don't mean to tell you not to edit, go ahead. and if i mess up tell me, but i'm gonna be makeing this my pet project for a little while.

- Great idea! Good to hear someone from the Project is taking interest here. As I said, I'd have done it myself...bla bla. I checked out the work you've done here so far, and it's looking good. Keep it up, man! If you have anything you want me to do, feel free. ~ Maximilli, 23:46, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Hey, saw your post here and decided to create an account. I would be happy to take on some clean up here. Seeing as there is a dearth of written material that is unbiased or uncritical (e.g., there are reviews, but in magazines whose main revenue source is advertising from makers and other companies), I'd like to suggest sourcing balancing statements from user-oriented sites, such as warpig.com and pbreview.com. Thoughts? dverdon, 12:17, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Ya good ideas, sources are a pretty hard thing to come by fro paintball related stuff. and thanks more help is always welcome. Also if your interested in Paintball you might want to join the Wikiproject Paintball if you would like to join just add your name to the members list and someone should come along and welcome you, and just give you a few project stuff. well thanks again for the help.

Hey i've been concentrateing on this for a while, for the past about 1.5 weeks i havn't been able to do much work on it but before that i was editing this page every day. Unfortunately i have decided to switch my focus onto the Paintball page so we can bring it to FA status. i think the page has gotten alot better (thanx in very little part to me), and we might even be able to remove the cleanup tag. any thoughts
peace-Three ways round 01:53, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- Honestly, I just stumbled across this article while checking for vandalism, and my first thought was that it might need to have the {{advert}} or {{newsrelease}} cleanup tags added. There are several parts where it seems to brag about the designs, such as this line, "The 98 Custom is known for its ease of use, durability and reliability making it an appealing choice for newcomers to the sport." And lines like, "Tippmann boasted that it is the most customisable marker on the market, with over 1000 different looks," are included without question or citation. All models are put in a positive light, with almost no problems mentioned, and unsupported statements about the collectibility value are frequently made. Due to this the article looks more like a product catalog than a Wikipedia entry.
- Also, I just fixed the E-Trigger section, which had looked like this, with the improperly displayed second paragraph and the misspelling "availible".
- The article still badly needs editing, POV statements like the examples I gave need to be removed, and numerous unsourced statements need references. The article has potential, but it still needs much more work to make it meet Wikipedia standards. -- HiEv 05:59, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Factory F/A vs. Pro/Carbine
ok what's the deal with these two. the title is factory F/A but in the section it talks about the Pro/Carbine. Now i've reserched it and the only difference i can see is that the F/A is the Pro/Carbine with a cyclone feed system, but i havn't been paintballing for long enough to see them when they were popular. Some help on here would be appreciated, because i'm a paintballer and i'm confused imagine someone just starting out reading the article. any like i said some help would be nice
peace-Three ways round 02:49, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
just for anyones info. i changed the title to Pro/Carbine. if anyone has a problem yell at me here
peace-Three ways round 03:17, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- When I talk to Tippmann (and I will, eventually....) I'll ask about the F/A as well. Maybe we should have a subsection in Pro-Carbine about it, since it is basically a tricked-out Carbine. Thoughts? ~ Maximilli, 05:51, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
ya i was thinking about doing something like that, but i decided to hold off untill we acctually have some proof to back it up.
Three ways round 22:50, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Hope I am doing this right... The F/A was Pro-Am based (Not the Pro-Carbine, that was a different beast from the Pro-Am/Pro-Light) and used a cyclone type feed, and the normal Pro-Light Chassis. It also had the addition of two hydraulic linked hooks on the back upper portion of the receiver that helped slow down the forward motion of the bolt through part of it's forward travel by dragging on the hammer. They were adjustable, but a tad touchy. The cyclone was attached to the mechanical motion of the bolt IIRC. It was a good gun and fun to shoot. I have had quite a few the tippman models from my first Pro-AM I bought 15 years ago, so ask away. :) So, feel free to take that and post it in, or I will.

Okay, I cleaned it up and fleshed it out a bit.

[edit] X-7
Hey i was debateing on makeing a seprate page for the X-7. I don't no much about it, and we have pretty much everything here that tippmann has on their site. So i decided to talk about makeing the page before just going ahead (i tried to do the same thing for the Tippmann Triumph, and it got deleted, see above). Any thoughts
