Talk:Tippmann 98 custom

[edit] Accuracy?

"It is the most popular paintball gun on the market and because of that it has the largest variety of aftermarket parts available for any paintball gun."

This is a very bold statement. I'm not a Tippman owner and so there is a possibility I might be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that this isn't true. I would venture to guess that Autocockers have a far larger variety of aftermarket parts. Perhaps this sentence should be toned down. Either that, or sourced.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Donutmonger (talkcontribs) .

If someone could resolve this, it would be good, as I think the "the neutrality of this article is disputed [...]" tag at the top doesn't look good for the article, or for the editors. The Editor 2 21:01, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

The Tippmann 98 custom has sold more than any other gun, but even if you look at tippmann's accesories page, the A-5 has quite a few more aftermarket accesories, i don't know about the autococker or many other guns, but even just that proves the statment wrong

Three ways round 15:49 2 January 2007 (UTC) it's not the most popular. It's a popular starting marker. Dappled Sage 02:34, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Yeah okay... Doesn't care... It's still POV till it's cited. I am removing it. The opening para needs to remain sweet, short and concise anyway. Put it back in (In a different section) with a citation only. ScarianTalk 17:59, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't agree with this, the opening line: "The Tippmann 98 Custom, also called the M98C, Model 98 Custom, 98 Custom, and simply the 98, is an open-bolt inline blowback marker designed especially for the sport of paintball."

I have read extensively, and have seen firsthand that their is a large difference between the Model 98, and the Custom 98, or 98 Custom. Distinction should always be made. For now, I've changed it to the proper way. If you have problems with it, please discuss it with me. Thanks, The Editor 2 01:57, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Ahh, wait, now I see. Technically, this article should be "Tippmann 98," and then have different sections for the three different versions. But it still shouldn't be called Model 98 Custom, as that confuses people. The Editor 2 02:00, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Also, everywhere credible you see the marker mentioned, it is the Tippmann 98 Custom, not the Tippmann Model 98 Custom. The Editor 2 02:08, 9 November 2006
