So it's official then, Jimbo Wales belongs on this list. I'll let you do the honors. :) davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 15:04, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RE:Guestbook

Anytime. Don't forget to check back to the task force. It is getting awfully inactive...I have named a new co-leader. Check the talk page for that. The whole page has been completely revamped.--Smashbrosboy 23:28, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Continuing the Continuing Smilie Discussion

True, but that one is more surprised than smiling. I'd rather just tell it as it is.

Ah, yes. I forgot about the "no pee-pee jokes" part of WP:USERNAME. Your welcome, by the way. :-D --KojiDude (C) 03:52, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] lead layout

Hello again,

Thank you for the helpful links. I must still be missing something because I cannot find anything that describes how to create a lead layout. My attempts always include the title and lead layoout sections in the outline. Most of the Wiki advice seems to be centered on how to write lead layout, not on how to mechanically create one.

Thanks again for your time and help

Koures (talk) 03:02, 2 June 2008 (UTC) ________________________ Koures reply to: No problem on the help. Are you just looking for how a lead paragraph should look in an article? Lemme know and I will try to help you. Article style is not my thing, but I will do my best to help or point you in the right direction. :)<3 Tinkleheimer TALK!! 03:10, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Sorry for the delay. I think I solved my problem concerning article titles. Thanks for your help _________________________

Hi Tinkleheimer - why did you revert my America's most smartest model post? Was it too confrontational? If I re-wrote it in a more neutral style would it be ok? Cheers 82.4.51.61 (talk) 19:01, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] A luta continua

Thanks for dropping by my Talk Page. That expression comes from Mozambique (so do I, for that matter), and it was used as a rallying cry to empower people to work together for a common goal. Ecoleetage (talk) 12:29, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reply.

Actually, something did come out of it all... the section on WP:USER saying it's discouraged. And it doesn't hurt the project, but then again neither do games in userspace, or cabals and the like. Anyway, I'll not delete, salt, and block [you], because wikipedia isn't communism (yet! :D). You're welcome x2. And sorry for the poorly thought-out reply... I'm kind of busy. · AndonicO Engage. 21:51, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Likewise; cheers. · AndonicO Engage. 22:44, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Glad you changed your mind. Sorry about your RFA, by the way. :( I hope it goes better next time (and please don't take the oppose personally). · AndonicO Engage. 19:00, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Quick Question about Using Wikipedia

I see that you responded to my comment on here and I'm curious about it. Is the individual that 'left' and 'came back' the same person? Sorry, I'm new to this but it feels like people are playing 'characters' and not just editing an encyclopedia. Bigjake (talk) 03:48, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RFA Thanks!

Hey there... Just wanted to thank you for participating in my recent RFA... I admit, I am a little curious, what even was it that gave you a good impression? I gather you are like me, somewhat of a talk page stalker (feel free to help me expand this humour page, I'll probably work on it more as soon as I get all this thank-spam out). anyhow, feel free to also check out my in-depth RFA analysis and see the templated thank spam I let for you below. cheers, xenocidic (talk) 13:24, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Pulling a Lazarus

Hey, regarding your late article Items in Super Mario Bros. -- why don't you get a friendly admin to resurrect the deleted article and have it sent to you? I've had that done with three articles that are now back on Wikipedia to stay. One of them actually wound up winning a DYK notice, too! If you want help in getting the article into Wiki-worthy shape, I'll be glad to assist. A luta continua! Ecoleetage (talk) 18:22, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

You don't need to start from scratch. It is still there, just out of sight and out of reach. Get an admin like DGG or Xenocidic to forward the article to you or save it on your User Talk page; several admins are happy to dig up deleted articles and send them to their original writers. This way, it will be preserved and you can update and wikify it at your leisure. Thanks! Ecoleetage (talk) 18:27, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Good deal. Never let a worthy article die without a fight. :) Ecoleetage (talk) 18:29, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your RfA

Thanks for your note. I was happy to support. Some free advice-- continue to rotate through article building and the admin related areas. Look at the policies once in a while to make sure of your understanding of them. Be reluctant to block/report to AIV until the user is still going after a full complement of recent warnings. Be reluctant to delete/tag for CSD unless there is clearly no hope of salvage. Keep in mind alternatives-- improvement, sourcing, redirection, AFD, prod. Many first time article creators create what at first looks like CSD material, but a search for sources sometimes turns up enough info to make the article worth keeping. As you continue to edit, your understanding will become clearer to the community, and eventually the community will be willing to support. Hope that helps. Dlohcierekim 18:39, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Commenting on inadequately warned AIV reports is what persuaded me to support. I should have stated that in my support rationale. Dlohcierekim 18:51, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
If you don't mind my horning in -- I was very glad to support your RfA and I will be supporting your next go-round. Keep at it -- a luta continua! :) Ecoleetage (talk) 19:17, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Agree with the above, though I oppose-!voted. My comment stands, you're a good editor, and I look forward to supporting your next RFA, and to helping in any way I can in the meantime. Best wishes, UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 19:42, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RfA

No problem! sorry if i sounded a bit harsh; you have made a lot of fantastic contributions and i think it's more a case of not right now than anything else. I could find about 5 articles you'd created, but 3 were redirects; apologies if i missed any. Ironholds 21:11, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the thanks. Perhaps I misinterpreted the statement about admins and managers. There is always another day! --Regents Park (roll amongst the roses) 21:19, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

I wish you all the best, and I'm here if you need help with anything. As I said, I'm sure you'd be a fantastic admin with a bit more experience, and I'll be glad to support after a few months. :) Best, PeterSymonds (talk) 21:22, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Thank You

Hey there. Sorry I couldn't support. Just try to be as careful as you can. And remember, adminship is no big deal, so you are a good editor even without the mop. :) Cheers! Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 21:29, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RFA thanks

You're more than welcome for the comment. I've been in a similar position just below the threshold - but like I said you're certainly on the right track. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing you on RFA again! Shereth 22:18, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Thank you

Hi there Tinkleheimer, thanks for taking the time to try and address my concerns, but unfortunately I think you only furthered them. I feel that building the community is a great and strongly encourage it, but the only reason community building should be done is to benefit the project (ie meet ups, IRC) and quite frankly at this day and age sign books do just the opposite and have lead to a community all right, but in no way one that helps to build a encyclopedia. As for the whole Jimbo argument I must say that just because Jimbo says does not mean it is right, or that I have to agree with it. I would also like to point out that Jimbo made that comment over 2 years ago, when sign books were not causing the issues they are now and people were not gamming Wikipedia and turning into a encyclopedia. Also, just because Jimbo said it is alright does not mean you have to do it. As for your team leader analogy, I guess I do not get it. I as a administrator gets blamed for the mistakes of my so called “employees”? How do we get the blunt of criticism any more than an active editor does? I hope you take this RfA as a learning curve and will be back even stronger than ever saying, “I told you so” Tiptoety talk 22:50, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Springfield?

Which D.186 HS did you go to? I'm from the area, myself. --InDeBiz1 (talk) 02:13, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Ahhh, Southeast.. the Spartans. LOL I very briefly dated a girl that went to Southeast when I worked for WDBR, about seven years ago.
Get used to the "feeling old" thing.. it only gets worse with each passing year!  :) --InDeBiz1 (talk) 04:00, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
I got started as a summer intern for Fig, back when he was doing Nights at WDBR. About six weeks or so into things, somebody either quit or got fired - depending on which version of the story you believe - and I was offered their on-air shift. The rest is, as they say, history.
Reach out to somebody at WDBR about an internship or maybe even a part-time on-air shift. Dave Daniels is the Program Director. Or, I could probably get you a show on WQNA out at CACC, as one of my best friends in the industry is the Program Director there. --InDeBiz1 (talk) 06:01, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Yes. Let's take this off-wiki, per Wikipedia is not Myspace. Please feel free to email me. --InDeBiz1 (talk) 06:07, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

No worries Tinkleheimer. Give it a few months and a bit more experience (I suggest XfD if you're looking to get your hands dirty), and I'm sure you'll sail straight through! Lankiveil (speak to me) 08:47, 10 June 2008 (UTC).
