Tintwistle Cricket Club was formed in 1835 and is located on Speedwell in the village of Tintwistle. Tintwistle (or 'Tinsel' as pronounced by villagers) is located in the High Peak district at the western end of the Longendale Valley. A section of the village sits within the Peak District National Park boundary and is designated a conservation area.
The club runs two senior teams, both playing on Saturdays, and four junior teams (under 17's, under 15's, under 13's & under 11's). All teams play in the Derbyshire & Cheshire Cricket League. The senior teams play in their respective top divisions of the DCCL.
The club has a Statistical Archive, 'The Vault' containing records for over 1060 players who have played for the club dating back to its formation in 1835.
