Tinkle

Tinkle is an Indian monthly comic Indian magazine, published in several Indian languages[1]. Originally owned by the India Book House, the Tinkle brand was acquired by ACK Media in 2007.[2] The Magazine combines comics, puzzles, quizzes, contest and other features in a unique mix targeted at school children. It is published in English and syndicated in many Indian languages like Malayalam. The magazine's online site TinkleOnline.com is a community of loyal Tinkle readers and other users worldwide.
Anant Pai was the founding editor of the magazine, who became popular among its readership as Uncle Pai. He also launched the popular Amar Chitra Katha series.
The first issue was printed in 1980, and more than 600 issues have been printed so far. The magazine carries comic stories and regular columns of interest to school children. Tinkle enjoys great popularity, and has been an integral part of growing up in India in the last two decades. Characters like Suppandi and Shikari Shambu that appeared first in the pages of the magazine have nation wide recognition. Readers send more than 200 letters with stories and other features to be considered for printing in the magazine. The wholesome combination of educational and entertainment that defines Tinkle has many celebrity fans in India, including the former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Tinkle Magazine is a monthly magazine for kids, it includes new stories, contests (that includes Tinkle Fun Time, Tinkle Picture Quiz, Say It Your Self),news article (labeled as Tinkle Times),'It Happened To Me' which is an article where readers send in there true life incidents and 'Young Poets Corner' where readers send in there poems they originally wrote.

Apart from one-off stories, it also has regular characters that appear in stand-alone fashion. Some of these characters are:
- Kalia the crow series - Doob-doob the crocodile, Chamataka the fox are the kings of the forest — or so they think. In reality, Kalia the crow is the one who calls the shots. No matter how hard Doob-doob and Chamataka try, Kalia always foils their plans. Whenever the smaller animals are in danger from Doob-doob and Chamataka, its Kalia to the rescue!
- Tantri the Mantri series - Scheming, cunning and devious. That's Tantri the evil Mantri! He is the Chief Minister and dreams of capturing the throne and spends all him time carefully laying plans to get rid of King Hooja. Crocodiles, catapults and booby traps, he has tried them all. Fortunately for King Hooja, the plans always backfire and Tantri has to go back to the drawing board.
