From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tinang Island is the official name of the island. However, local folks also call this island Nilintian. It is an uninhabited island in the province of Romblon in the Philippines. It is part of barangay Alad in the municipality of Romblon.

The rocky island resembles a native ship called batil or lantsa if seen from afar. Legend has it that a ship was cruising one stormy day when it was stroked by lightning turning the ship into an island, hence people call it Nilintian meaning stroked by lightning bolts.
