[edit] Paris Hilton merge

A few comments on a merger:

  • Since the addition of the tag, there has been no support of a merge on Paris' talk page
  • This article may not be too long, but Paris' is already nearing the max. suggested article size
  • Most of the information on Tinkerbell in Paris' article was added recently, after this article was already in existence.
    • On that topic, Paris Hilton's article should be about her, not her dogs.
  • There is already an entire category of famous dogs, WP has a standard of allowing famous dogs their own page.
      • Well, unless I missed it, there's no indication on Paris' article talk page that this discussion is occurring, so I cannot see why it would get a mention. I'll add a word or two to the talk page to see if anyone's bothered. Sliggy 20:03, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
  • If we must talk about the dog then it should probably get its own page to keep the main PH page from getting too long. Then in a couple years when she's ditched the dog and its no longer notable we can prod the whole page. Reluctant merge Thatcher131 03:34, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
  • Another month has passed. Seems like a frivolous matter to me, but it passed AFD and this is actually quite a good standalone article. I'll remove the merge tag. No clear consensus on either talk page for a merge. --kingboyk 05:47, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
  • Oppose. As user Kingboyk stated above, it is a good standalone article. The authorship of the book is true, and Tinkerbell has appeared on several television shows and has been parodied by shows like South Park. There are bound to be less-deserving dogs out there that have an article to themselves. Tinkerbell is not one of them Deatonjr 22:21, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Merge, if you must, but get rid of this -- I can't believe it wasn't deleted. Davidkevin 06:30, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Oppose. Much as I can't believe I'm saying this, the dog has become well-known in it's own right, as many it's cultural references can allude to. Also, as previously stated, the Paris Hilton article is getting far too big as it is. --CWSensation 08:52, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Merge and delete. Exploding Boy 16:16, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Merge already. This article is very short, should be a piece of cake. / edg 03:00, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Merged; the actual content was just a short paragraph. This was recently mentioned on Talk of the Nation, so please keep an eye on it. -- Visviva 07:42, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Oppose the Paris Hilton article is about Paris Hilton, not about Tinkerbell, and Tinkerbell receives enough media attention to have a own article. — Jhn* 22:51, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Treatment?

It said in the Paris Hilton article that Paris had been voted Worst Dog Owner of All Time (or something like that) by some dog group. Is it worth mentioning here, and the group's reasons for naming her so?

If they're a reasonably well known dog group, go ahead.--130.65.240.74 09:58, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

If the animal rights group is notable enough that they could deserve their own entry, and if the claim got a lot of news coverage, and if it could be reported NPOV. Thatcher131 03:42, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] anti-tinkerbell-shirts etc?

I miss the latest development on the anti-tinkerbell shirts from various other stars' dogs.... like missy elliot's for example. i dont know where i have seen the pics, but it was surely funny.

Plus: what happened to the rumours that PH wanted to get rid of her dog for a new one - because she got bored of tinkerbell? ?

[edit] Greek breeder claims he sold Tinkerbell to Paris Hilton

On page http://www.chihuahua.gr/indexen.html a Greek Trash TV personality, now turned chihuahua breeder, claims he has sold Tinkerbell to Paris along with many other dogs. So Tinkerbell was not born in LA but in Greece.

Here follows the translation of an interview the trash TV guy Andreas Evangelopoulos has given to a Greek gossip magazine σοκ (shock), issue 568, on Tuesday, November 22, 2005. This is the page of the relevant issue of the magazine in Greek. http://www.sok.gr/default.asp?pid=6&langID=1&volno=568 It does NOT though include this interview. These are two scans from the magazine that Evangelopoulos has on his page: http://www.chihuahua.gr/46.jpg, http://www.chihuahua.gr/48.jpg, which have all the text of the interview (in Greek).

This is only the part regarding Paris Hilton and Tinkerbell, this guy goes on and on about Paris Hilton and almost everything about her.

- On your site you reveal that you have a deep friendship bond with Paris Hilton.

- I had the luck to meet Paris Hilton five years ago on the Internet, she has found me.

- How exactly did she find you?

- From an electronic address identifying me, which had on it "Ethnikos Star" (note from me: "National Star" - this is how he calls himself) and general info about the dogs. And she wanted a dog. I didn't know her true value then, I thought she was just a rich girl, I didn't know the ballyhoo Hilton creates abroad.

- When was your first contact?

- In 2000, with the first dog. In 2001(sic), Tinkerbell occured, because the other dog became big, black, with brown legs and she gave it away. Tinkerbell is four years old today. Tinkerbell is Peter Pan's fairy. She's a female chihuahua, which I didn't intend to give to Hilton, I was not interested in selling it, because I wanted it to give births. This animal was very beautiful and there was a very good chemistry from the first time Hilton saw it, like the pin and the magnet! She was enchanted and she asked it from me, but I was not giving it to her. At that time this dog was sold to the astronomical price of 1 million drachmas (note from me: equivalent to 3,000 euros). After Tinkerbell she was getting the dogs and giving them as presents to every celebrity around the world. And from this collaboration I have a very frequent contact with Hilton. She's my friend.

- In what language you communicate?

-She puts someone who speaks both Greek and American (sic) and she speaks with me. I even knew about the breakup with Paris (note from me: Paris Latsis). And the last dog Hilton got from me was Babilly, eight months ago, this chocolat with rusty colored legs. She gave Tinkerbell to her mother.

[edit] Deletion discussion

Other than being the pet of Paris Hilton, its not famous for anything else. Seriously. I can't even think of a sensible enough argument for this. It should be merged into the Paris Hilton article. Its.. just. No. Disinclination 04:58, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

So agree with you, i was looking at the famous dogs list, and i saw this, wtf, this stupid mutt hasn't been to space, or did something noble, why is it in here... (NeoDeGenero 18:48, 7 April 2007 (UTC))

I support merging with Paris Hilton. Exploding Boy 15:45, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

I support merging as well. A dog by any other name ... its only "notability" whatsoever is that it has a famous owner. It isn't famous like some other animals in their own rights, e.g. heroic animals that have saved lives, animals that have been in space and are thus historically noteworthy, etc. --Cyde Weys 19:16, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

If you support merging, please voice your opinons in the merge discussion at the top of this Talk page. Merge discussions and deletion discussions should ideally be two separate things. I OPPOSE deleting...as retarded as an article about Tinkerbell may seem, the dog is notable.
