Talk:Tina Arena
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Could someone help me with a 'vocal profile" for Tina? She also has an incredible range! Mseames
Sorry, I'd just like to make it clear that Tina does not in fact speak French fluently. She's at best competent, but far from fluent. If you download her interviews at http://www.tinaarenaonline-france.com/ (in particular the one titled 'L'invité') you will understand.
- I am not fluent so I cannot gage how fluent she is. How is she not fluent? Is it her grammar mistakes or does she struggle to say what she wants to say?
She frequently makes grammatical errors (in gender, conjugation, and vous/tu distinction) and has often lapsed into English during television appearances. She is, however, improving. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.28.73.4 (talk) 18:51, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vocal Profile!
I agree! Tina has an awesome vocal range! Try listening to most of her "In Deep" songs and you'll know.
I wonder how many octaves can her voice reach. That would be cool to know.
Tina has a high vocal range I must say!
Impressive!
- My educated guess about her range is at least 3 octaves. I'd class her as a spinto soprano or a dramatic soprano. 68.62.95.95 04:00, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Tina being the highest selling Artist from AUS
I have one thing to say:
Kylie Minogue......
- )
- Tina was awarded both by ARIA and the World Music Awards for being "Australia's Highest Selling Female Artist EVER".
[edit] Arena's the best!
I love Kylie Minogue but Tina does it better when it comes to singing and obviously Tina looks better! Yep! Tina is Australia's Highest Selling Female Artist both awarded by the ARIA's and the World Music Awards.
Is it possible for anyone to list position of Tina's songs in music chart (ARIA and around the world)?
- What country charts should be included? 68.62.95.95 04:00, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Bio
Why was the biography part cut out of this article? All that remains are trivia and discography.
[edit] One of 5 Non French Million Sellers In France?/Chart History
Hey everyone, I've always wondered what other 4 non-French artists had million selling albums in France. I'm guessing Lara Fabian and Celine Dion would be two of those.
And I noticed someone wanted her Australian chart peaks entered. I won't do this because I always notice no one really enters chart numbers for countries outside of the US and UK and I don't know why. Possibly because many other countries don't have chart databases?
SINGLES I Need Your Body - OZ#3 PLATINUM The Machine's Breaking Down - OZ#23 Strong As Steel - OZ#30 Chains - OZ#4 PLATINUM Sorrento Moon - OZ#7 GOLD Heaven Help My Heart - OZ#22 Wasn't It Good - OZ#8 GOLD That's The Way A Woman Feels - OZ#24 Burn - OZ#2 PLATINUM If I Didn't Love You - OZ#49 Now I Can Dance - OZ#12 I Want To Know What Love Is - OZ#38 Soul Mate #9 - OZ#22 Dare You To Be Happy - OZ#42 Symphony Of Life - OZ#8 Italian Love Song - OZ#33 ALBUMS Tiny Tina & Little John - GOLD Strong As Steel - OZ#17 GOLD (went GOLD again as a re-release in 1996) Don't Ask - OZ#1 9xPLATINUM In Deep - OZ#1 4xPLATINUM Souvenirs - OZ#35 GOLD Just Me - OZ#7 GOLD Greatest Hits 1994-2004 - OZ#10 GOLD
Here's her French chart peaks not entered as well (cited by http://lescharts.com/search.asp?cat=s&search=Tina+Arena):
SINGLES I Want To Spend My Lifetime Loving You - FR#13 GOLD I Want To Know What Love Is - FR#4 Aller Plus Haut - FR#2 GOLD Les Trios Cloches - FR#4 Segnali di Fumo - FR#78 Tu Es Toujours Lá - FR#11 Symphonie de l'ame - FR#48 Je Te Retrouve Un Peu - FR#44 ALBUMS In Deep - FR#3 DIAMOND Just Me - FR#47 Vous Etes Toujours La - FR#31 Un Autre Univers - FR#9 PLATINUM
Anyone hear her song Timeless or have it? I'm also looking for Turn Up the Beat and a few French songs, I have most of her MP3's. Or could someone point in the direction of a good board I can request and offer the songs I have of hers? Puckeylut 23:08, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Puckeylut (or anyone else here), feel free to add the international chart figures. The U.S. charts are the most often-quoted because they represent the world's single largest music market. However, to limit the mention of career achievement to one or two countries is not only an incomplete picture of an artist's impact, but it is ethnocentric and against the spirit and the letter of Wiki policy. Any national success anywhere is a significant achievement, and there are indeed many Wiki pages for performers, songs, and albums, which contain chart figures from numerous countries around the world. To help the readability of all this info, you can copy a template from another artist's discography or bio page, paste it into Arena's edit window, delete the info, and input Arena's. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:TinaAimer1.jpg
Image:TinaAimer1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Vernacular, and U.S. chart claim
The phrase "pole position" (not "poll position") means #1. I changed the sentence but if she did indeed remain at #1 for "well over a year," please change it back (with the appropriate spelling). I also changed the wording of the sentence about Mick Jones' production bringing her success on the U.S. charts, because this is not borne out by the chart figures shown here for that album. If she did indeed chart in the U.S. for this album, by all means revert that sentence and add the U.S. chartings to that album's infobox. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Abrazame (talk • contribs) 06:52, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Don't Ask Sales
In this interview, it says Don't Ask sold 2 million, a bit more than the 1.3 in the bio. I know it's copied off her website tho. Thought it was interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml4eYEIL9zk&feature=related —Preceding unsigned comment added by Puckeylut (talk • contribs) 12:41, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Un autre univers
Could someone say where they got the 3xPlatinum figures for Un autre univers? The SNEP website only lists it at Platinum. But they only list certifications at the end of the year, so the only way it would be possible is if it was just certified this year. But as of 2007, the SNEP website states its highest sales at Platinum. I did add that Je m'appelle Bagdad was certified Silver. http://www.disqueenfrance.com Puckeylut (talk) 18:46, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- Removed the 3xPlatinum figure from Un autre univers. The album sold an estimated 275.300 copies in France. Note that Just Me sold 125,000 and In Deep 850,000. Puckeylut (talk) 02:19, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
