[edit] Harvey Grammar School

Thanks for your comment. I see your point and have modified the Harvey Grammar School article so that the comparison of once-secret vs now-public tourist attraction is made. Feel free to take a look and update it further if you wish. Thanks also for assuming good faith; it's a principle I firmly believe in. Truthanado 17:46, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to WikiProject Trains

Hello and welcome to the Trains WikiProject! Thank you for adding your name to our project membership list. Our goal is to build the most comprehensive and detailed guide to rail transport on Wikipedia. As a project member, you may add the project membership userbox to your user page if you wish.

If you haven't done so already, please add our main project page to your watchlist and take some time to review the Trains project manual of style where we have collected guidelines and suggestions on notability and style for a consistent representation of rail transport related material. If you're curious about where to start, we've gathered a few suggestions in the Trains project to do list. If you'd like to specialize in a particular area of study within rail transport, take a look at the current Trains project task forces.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the project talk page or on my talk page. Again, welcome and happy editing! Slambo (Speak) 17:58, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Moneghetti.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Moneghetti.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:06, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:UK-customs-cpo.JPG

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:UK-customs-cpo.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. STBotI 19:15, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Talking back to robots, eh? I like your style... talkGiler 13:15, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Lol - thank you! They do annoy me. You post an image and before you have time to add your favourite copyright tag some tedious little nerd has sent his bot round to have a go at you! It really is too much. Timothy Titus Talk To TT 14:28, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Grand Chancellor

Hi... thanks for asking and not getting into a revert war. Several reasons for my edit... First, I am actually debating whether to cut the bit about the one lodge that has a Chancellor since, as far as I know, it is unique to that one lodge... While there might be one or two others, the office is so rare that I don't really think it merits mention. Lots of lodges have unique offices that fit their needs and desires (for example, my Lodge has an officer called the "Master of Fellowcraft", who is responsible for organizing the team of brothers who play the 12 Fellowcraft in the Hyramic Drama) but I don't think there is a need to include discussion of these unique officers in a list that is trying to discuss all of Freemasonry. Grand Chancellor is slightly different, While rare, it is not unique... it is used by more than one Grand Lodge. So it deserves some mention. As it is a Grand Lodge Office, it has the word "Grand" attached. The jurisdictions that have this office call it "Grand Chancellor"... so should we. Hope that clarifies my reasoning. Blueboar 17:25, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Actually, if poet loreat exists in only one lodge, I would say we should definitely cut that as well. This has to to with notability. We could include hundreds of "one off" line and non-line positions if we went down that road. I just don't think an office that exists in only a few lodges (I will accept your statement that it is three for Chancellor) needs to be included in the list... it isn't all that notable. It is the type of information that is important to the brethren of the lodge and the office holder... but the rest of Masonry, not to mention the rest of the world, does not really care.
As to the title Grand... I guess the solution to that is for us to ask: what do the various Grand Lodge's actually call the position? I don't think they use "Grand" for the "Superintendant of Works", but they use "Grand" for the "Grand Chancellor". Blueboar 18:53, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
I did some checking on the web... almost evrey GL affixes "Grand" to all of their titles... thus, I have conformed everything in the section to include the word "Grand"... from "Grand Sword Bearer", through "Grand Superintendant of Works", to "Grand Keeper of The Rest Room Key", etc.
I think that should settle the issue? Blueboar 21:25, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Greatstone-station-1930.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Greatstone-station-1930.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 11:28, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Exsessive deletion

I appreciate your work in tidying up wikipedia, but please:

  • don't remove red links to pages with potential wikipedia aricles: red links are invitations to write these articles
  • don't delete redirects and disambiguation pages. These are technical navigation pages and some of them are necessary when reading older versiona of wikipedia articles.

[edit] Buncton

In your recent addition to the Buncton page you include "the same year as the most recent change of Parish priest."

  • This does not seem to be appropriate for inclusion in an encyclopedia. It is only of ephemeral interest.
  • The comment seems to imply that the new vicar is in some way connected with the act of vandalism. If this is intentional you should should remove it unless you have evidence. If it is not intended then perhaps you should reconsider the way it is phrased (if you think the comment is needed at all.)

Let me know what you think.--Doug (talk) 22:15, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] comma after "i.e."

Hello. Thank you for your comment at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:172.191.75.88&redirect=no on 08:36, 10 April 2008 (UTC). Sorry. I did know that, actually, but I could swear that I read on one of the ten billion behind-the-scenes pages at Wikipedia that the Wikipedia style is to put a comma after “i.e.” I don’t remember seeing that page recently, and it could have been from literally years ago by now. Unfortunately, either I am remembering it wrong, the policy got changed, or I just can’t find the right page. Sorry to bug you! (I edited the page again because I put the second period in “i.e.” back in. Left the comma out this time though!) anon 12:36, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Gibraltar

Hi Timothy, thanks for uploading those images! I was wondering if you would know why the offical website cites the bishop's name as Douglas Geoffrey Rowell? --Gibmetal 77talk 19:04, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply, I must have missed it in the lead of his own article. You wouldn't happen to have any other photographs of Gibraltar that would be useful in any of the related articles by any chance, would you? --Gibmetal 77talk 20:19, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
OK, thanks. It would be greatly appreciated if you do :) --Gibmetal 77talk 21:40, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletion of Diplomatic missions of Gibraltar‎

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Diplomatic missions of Gibraltar‎, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice?

I recommend you create List of Diplomatic Missions in Gibraltar and compile as per other similar articles.
