Timken Museum of Art

The Timken Museum of Art is an art museum located at Balboa Park in San Diego, California. The museum displays a significant collection of European old master paintings, sculptures, and tapestries. These holdings are supplemented by important collections of American painting and Russian icons. More specifically, the collection's holdings include works by American (Copley, West, Cole, Bierstadt), Italian (Savoldo, Veronese, Guercino), Spanish (Murillo), and French masters (Clouet, Claude, Boucher, Fragonard, David, Corot), but its most impressive group of works belongs to the Flemish and Dutch schools with individual masterpieces by the likes of Pieter Brueghel the Elder, Peter Paul Rubens, Anthony Van Dyck, Frans Hals, and Rembrandt van Rijn.
