[edit] Plot

Ben Wilson (Jeff Daniels) is a widower who has just purchased an old, rural hotel that needs renovation. The entire hotel is soon rented out by a mysterious stranger who is a tour guide. The mystery begins with why they want to stay at his hotel rather than the one in the town, and it broadens from there.
