Time U.K

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Time U.K was an English rock band in the early 1980s. After the split of The Jam in 1982, Drummer Rick Buckler received numerous demo tapes from musicians interested in forming a new band with him. One of these stood out. It was from former Masterswitch member Ray Simone who then recommended former Masterswitch bandmate Jimmy Edwards, who had been recommended to Rick prior to this. Danny Kustow, of the Tom Robinson Band, and Nick South of the Plastic Ono Band. Time U.K Sold nearly 60,000 copies of their first single, 'The Cabaret'. Their follow up single 'Playground of Privilege' was also produced by Tony Visconti (David Bowie, Marc Bolan & T Rex). Buckler was reunited with ex-The Jam bassist Bruce Foxton and Time UK's Jimmy Edwards as "Sharp" who recorded some songs for the short lived Unicorn label (Entertain Me, Sunday Mood). The recordings have subsequently been re issued on a Time UK anthology 'One More Time' on Detour Records.
