Tim uses a wide selection of pedals. He uses Seymour Duncan pickups. He owns a wide collection of PRS Guitars. In one interview it is said that he has a secret guitar that P-Nut gave him as a gift, a Gibson SG. He also owns a Steve Vai Signature Ibanez, a Dime Bag Washburn and a seven stringed Schecter 7 that he played on the 311 tracks Mindspin and Seal the Deal. His most used guitar is custom built PRS Standard 24 named Blue. Blue has a custom tiki mask headstock inlay that was designed by Bob Vessells. The back of the headstock reads "Custom Built For Tim Mahoney." This guitar also has an extremely rare finish on it. The guitar itself is called Blue because it looks white but blue at the same time with special paint. His most famous guitar that he is often seen in shows with.
