Timothy Paul Lovejoy (born 28 March 1964), is a British television presenter, famous for his Saturday morning football programme on Sky Sports Soccer AM alongside co-host Helen Chamberlain. He is the father of twin girls, Grace and Rose and split from his wife in 2006.
[edit] Career
Tim Lovejoy joined Planet 24 working as a researcher for The Big Breakfast, before going on to produce the show. His presenting career began on Channel Five where he hosted the late night sports discussion show, Under the Moon.
After the success of Soccer AM, Lovejoy joined Xfm before moving to Virgin Radio, where he briefly presented a Sunday afternoon show once a week .
Lovejoy has also hosted Tim Lovejoy and the Allstars, a show similar to TFI Friday, on Sky One, where he chatted with celebrities along with performances from a variety of bands, from the Manic Street Preachers to The Bees, and including the first TV performance by Babyshambles.
In 2006 Lovejoy was the co-host of car show Fifth Gear on Five. However his lack of knowledge on the subject made him unpopular with car enthusiasts [1][2] and as a result has not appeared in any subsequent series.
Lovejoy is now also presenting a Sunday morning TV programme on BBC2 called Something for the Weekend, mainly based on cooking but also showing clips of other programmes, and has features such as gadget round ups and cocktail mixing tips.
It was announced on 5 June 2007 that Lovejoy would be leaving Soccer AM after 11 years.[1]
Following his departure from Soccer AM, it has been announced that Lovejoy would join BBC Radio Five Live as host of the Wednesday night edition of its football phone-in show, 6-0-6.[2] He hosted the UK edition of Five's new Major League Soccer magazine show David Beckham's Soccer USA but has announced that it will not be returning.
