Tim Johnson was the first head college football coach for the Avila University Eagles located in Kansas City, Missouri and he held that position for five seasons, from 2000 until 2004. His overall coaching record at Avila was 17 wins, 30 losses, and 0 ties. This ranks him first at Avila in terms of total wins and first at Avila in terms of winning percentage. [1]
Iin 2004 he took Avila to the Wheat Bowl in its first bowl game, losing to Midland Lutheran College by a score of 31-9.[2]
