Tim Gough is a British disc jockey and current Programme Controller at 106.6 Smooth Radio in Nottingham
His broadcasting career began at Radio Orwell, a station based in Ipswich, Suffolk, where, after starting as a record librarian and tech-op, he was given the opportunity to present the Sunday morning early show. In November 1986, he took over an early morning pre-breakfast show slot which was also simulcast on the Bury St Edmunds station Saxon Radio. After favourable listening figures, in 1988, he was offered the role of breakfast show presenter on Saxon Radio.
Tim took a brief career break in 1989 to go travelling. In 1991 he rejoined Radio Orwell on the early evening show. Shortly after, the station was re-launched as SGR-FM, where Tim was to present the afternoon show and Top 20 Plus show on Saturday lunchtimes.
He moved to the East Midlands in 1995, where he became a presenter for Radio Trent and later Leicester Sound. He joined Saga 106.6 FM following its 2003 launch, and was one of its regular presenters, hosting the afternoon drivetime show. He was also part of the inaugural line-up at Saga's replacement, 106.6 Smooth Radio. After initially presenting the afternoon show from 1-4pm, he was appointed Programme Controller of the station and replaced by Eamonn Kelly towards the end of 2007.
