Talk:Timeline of the future

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This logarithmic timeline of the future was deleted a while ago because some people considered it too speculative. I, who created it, was not aware of the attack until the time for comment was almost over. After writing a defense, and offering to debate any particular issue, there was no further commentary, but it was nevertheless deleted by an administrator.

I have now recreated it without the "speculative" elements, like global warming, decreased use of petroleum, or sea-level rise. I have also removed the Olympic games, which apparently struck some people as "original research" because I was making a selective choice based on my own opinion. Of course, I had put those there because they were what I could think of, but I had hoped that other people would put in other planned events.

Again, if anyone wants to dispute any of the predictions, let it be done here on the talk page, and not by trying to delete the whole article!
