This page doesn't make any sense. Pakistan as a nation-state and ideology only came into being in the middle of the 20th century. Anything before that should be grouped under the history of "India" or "Indian subcontinent" or "South Asia subcontinent". Tuncrypt 06:01, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] This page cannot be merged with the Timeline of Indian History

The purpose of this page was to introduce the history of the region what is now Pakistan. The ancient India and the modern state India are two different entities. The modern India emerged just 60 years ago as a separate nation state when the British colonialists divided the British India, whereas the ancient India was roughly the region stretched from the Sutlej river in the east to the Jehlum river in the west. --Sarfarosh2 (talk) 11:50, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

I agree, especially the "Post-Independence Era" section - would be little odd to merge into India.

I have changed the merge notice to Timeline Pakistan.
