[edit] Table is Weird part 1
The table looks weird somehow...The "World" column is much narrower that the "China" and the "Britain" ones. Can anyone help? -- Jerry Crimson Mann 07:30, 25 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Table is Weird part 2
I think the table is quite weird, because with the current layout much space is wasted (most of the content is put into the "Hong Kong" column, yet it's only allocated <30% of the space. I think the table should be demolished and replaced with a list (as follows). What do you think? Deryck C. 07:00, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
Example of the list format:
- 1842 Britain rules Hong Kong
- 1860 Britain rules Kowloon south of Boundary Street
- 1898 Britain rules New Territories
- Perhaps with a flag (or flags) showing at the end of each line. — Instantnood 12:35, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

- Agreed. We should add a flag to enhance the table and make it more presentable. --Siva1979Talk to me 14:27, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

- This page had been marked for improvement and expansion in January 2007. I would like to convert this entire page to a format like Timeline of Chinese history for consistency. It is currently in a very raw html format, it should at least be in simplified html format. If I don't hear any complaints, I would like to begin reconstruction as soon as possible. - Probably the original writer is a HTML fanatic like me, who don't have the intention to learn any kind of Wiki table markup because of his/her extensive knowledge about HTML / CSS. --Deryck C. 14:32, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well I am going to post a HTML table format identical to that of Timeline of Chinese history since the format is as easy as a wiki table. If enough people want to go back to the list format then we'll do that. I'd like to keep the table format since it is multi-dimension. A list is just a list. Benjwong 19:06, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Is Hong Kong a City?
If it's not a city what is it? Hong Kong meets the common sense meaning of a city and I would expect it to show up on a list called City timelines. I don't think the legalities really matter. --JeffW 14:26, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- [1] - If Hong Kong is to be included in that category, I'd be expecting to see the counterparts of London and Tokyo, which are also not cities from the legal and administrative aspects. Viewing from the common sense definition of the word city, it's also uncertain whether Hong Kong is one single city or several cities and towns, although it's certainly one conurbation or metropolitan area. — Instantnood 16:11, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Other Column
If the "other people/events" column, if the info does not have any relevance to the history of HK in someway, it probably does not belong. Benjwong 23:50, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Structure Change
This page will change to match the consistency of the history of Hong Kong page. Modern Hong kong will likely only incorporate post war stuff. And colonial Hong kong ends by the 1940s. Benjwong 19:00, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
