[edit] Serious ommission
You've forgotten to include in your chronology the events of 1922. I suspec that the deportation of hundreds of thousands of Greeks, a very vivid part of the city's population deserves some mentioning. Don't you? I assume good faith, and I expect you to add the missing information. Thanks!--Yannismarou 12:07, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- Still, waiting ... I don't want to interfere in the article and add the events myself ...--Yannismarou 07:36, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the article has a in-construction tag.. I am sure cretan has taken a note of it.. Baristarim 07:49, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- This is also my firm belief, and that is why I don't act unilaterally.--Yannismarou 07:59, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- I am sure he will get around to it soon :) Baristarim 08:04, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- Cretanforever, can you please give me a straightforward answer. I believe that you have seen my posts, and I am sorry if you believe that they are not worthy of any answer. So, my question is simple:Do you honestly believe that between 1902 and 1936 nothing notable happened in Izmir? Don't you know the events of this period? Do you want me to add them, if you don't want to or if you don't feel comfortable to add them? Thank you in advance for your kind responses.--Yannismarou 19:46, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- In fact, I saw your posts only now, but I fail to understand the sense of the question. I am working on this article, as the tag indicates. It's not an easy article, too diverse subject headings and I am waiting for some material. As yet, there is nothing between the 178 AD and 1071 AD either, which doesn't mean that nothing happened in the city at that time. Cretanforever 21:00, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- OK! Thanks for your answer. I'll wait until your work is over.--Yannismarou 11:19, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Name change
As discussed, I intend to revert the title back to İzmir chronology if no objections. Far from me the pretension of wanting to write a History of İzmir. It's a chronology, a timeline of events without any analysis or conclusions. Cretanforever 06:01, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- I agree that "chronology" or "timeline" is a more proper title for the article in question.--Yannismarou 07:42, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
-
- I removed the "work" tag and replaced with a "dynamic list" tag (although there will be perhaps
better ideas than that tag). I feel there is currently something of a gap in the city's Byzantine history, when it had declined in importance, until the Nicaean Empire. Cretanforever 16:02, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:AlbumdeSmyrne1.jpg
Image:AlbumdeSmyrne1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
