[edit] Reviews
There sure are a lot of reviews on the web, we may need to trim them later on--Mutley 09:13, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- I agree, but I'd be for putting it to a vote of both how many and which ones. I think they're all constructive to the page, but we should remove any "fan reviews" (such as when I get around to writing mine... mine would go in here becase U write for a magazine, but that's different, I wouldn't put mine here because of general conflict of interest). --lincalinca 12:46, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- As someone just dropping in on this article, I think it's almost at GA level. Get rid of the OR banner and whatnot, and you could take it to GAC. I'd be happy to review it then. Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 04:33, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks Gig. I'm wanting to find the source I got that info from now. Some of it's from the Denton interview (linked on the Crowded House main page), some from a Canadian concert review and some from the sleeve inner itself, but there're other sources that it's comprised of also. Until I can re-write the section so that it (a) doesn't sound like OR and (b) be referenced, I'm not interested it putting it up to GAC because it's going to be shot down straight away. I'd rather get the facts straight and the request review. Thanks for the "dropping in" though! lincalinca 06:08, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Review hold
- The article could do with a copyedit, looking at the lead. 2007 should probably be mentioned once to begin with and then only the dates of the month need to be used. The songwriter should probably be in the lead along with the contract label I think. The final sentence of the first para should be broken up and the drummer info should be a second sentence. “Late” is redundant since we are already told that Hester killed himself.
- ”Neil Finn” is used in full twice in the same para. When exactly did Finn invited Seymour. There should be references to which year so the reader can get an understanding.
- One para in the background is unsourced. There is also a one line para that needs integration.
- Next two sections need sources.
- ”Pour le monde” should probably have subtitles “for the world”
- Done Dihydrogen Monoxide 08:29, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- The musical style and motifs should have a lot more third party comments. At the moment it is mostly that of Finn, which doesn’t give much of an outside perspective.
- Badly worded setnece: “As Crowded House's place of origin is held in contention due to being led by Neil Finn of New Zealand, however the band has always resided in and was formed in Australia”
- Done Dihydrogen Monoxide 08:29, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Date formats used incocnsistently – month-day and then day-month
- Done Dihydrogen Monoxide 08:29, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- In the table, I think all the names should be used in full. In the main body, only the surname is used on multiple references, but in a table this become unbalanced in my opinion.
- The lists at the end definitely need sources.
- Date format in refs need to be consistent
- Done Dihydrogen Monoxide 08:29, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Aren’t we supposed to have last name, name format in the refs
- Ref 16 needs to be filled out
- Done Dihydrogen Monoxide 08:29, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- 17, 30 and 31 do not appear to be reliable

- To answer these concerns, I've changed your bullet points into numbers and am addressing each here:
No worries. I'll get onto these concerns.Sure.Can you clarify what needs to be integrated and which part needs a source?Sure. Can you clarify how you mean for this to be done? The title of the song is "Pour le Monde", which is simply translated as "For the World", but that's not the title for the song.Okay, I'll integrate some information from the reviews and such and hopefully that can provide a greater third party perspective.I'm going to take out that line. It could be worded better, but really, there's no need for it.Cool, I'll update. I thought I'd worked through all of them (from American editors).- I agree that it looks unbalanced, but this is the formatting encouraged by WP:ALBUM#Track listing.
There's only one list and it is sourced? You're referring to the personnel list? Because the liner notes are sourced by the first line. I'm not going to replicate that ref for every member of personnel. There's just far too many and it'd be erroneous.I'll fix that. As above, I thought they were all done.Yep (whoops).I'll do that too.Howlspace is published by a sub-BBC company. Your's is the discernement of its reliability.
- Thanks for giving me the time to address these concerns. As I've finished them, I'll cross them off my list here, but will bold the ones I need clarified. --lincalinca 06:34, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, I'm pretty sure I've covered and amended all of the areas where you have expressed your concern, or at least addressed why not here. How's it looking now? --lincalinca 12:07, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- Looks good to me - I've done a bit of copyediting just to make it better :) Dihydrogen Monoxide 08:23, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
