Talk:Time capsule (disambiguation)

[edit] Julian Barbour
There was a need to include Julian Barbour's concept in the disambiguation. There was already a wikilink in the article Time pointing to Time capsule which clearly did not make sense. I therefore added Barbour's concept here, and altered the link on the Time page afterwards. Stbalbach - you could have first checked by means of the What links here on the left of the window. Someone else has since removed it, so I will not now be reverting to my previous edit. DFH 15:24, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
- Well, two problems. It is unlikely that Julian Barbour's conception of a time capsule will have its own article. According to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages) this entry would not qualify. Dab pages are not for explaining a term, they are simply navigation aides that lead to the correct article - if the concept wouldn't have it own article, it shouldn't be listed. The second problem I see is in the Time article there is nothing wrong with linking time capsule, even though its not Julian Barbour's conception, because the concept is explained in the Time article, same sentence - wikilinks are just helpful "see also" type things they don't have to mean exactly what is being said. Another option is to make time capsule link to Julian Barbour's book article and create a stub with a short explanation of what is meant by time capsule there. -- Stbalbach 15:36, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks for helpful response, with which I concur. Earlier, I edited the Julian Barbour page to remove such a link. DFH 21:35, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
