Considerably fleshed out article (like, you know, added where it is) and removed stub and content listing. If anyone wants to add more, feel free to do so. It's been a while since I rode the Timber Wolf and all I remember about it is that I absolutely hated the damn thing. 204.69.40.7 17:02, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Accidents on the Tiber Wolf or WOF

I don't know of any other rides at Worlds of Fun that have caused a death. To my knowledge the rest have just been minor injuries.--Moonraker0022 22:56, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

It is true that the Zambezi Zinger didn't have seat belts, and had a tunnel. Although are no news articles that I have found that that verify the story. There are several "Tunnel Beheading" Urban Myths/Legends stories that appear all across the country. One such on is on Silver Dollar City's Fire In The Hole. I've searched and searched and haven't found any news articles that support that. Urban Myths

For consistency and ease of finding the info on amusement park ride accident stories in Wikipedia, the info is consolidated onto the various Incidents at... pages. That way, if more (or accurate) info is found on the story, we don't have to go all over the place updating it. Cheers! SpikeJones 23:24, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

The reason for having it on here was so if people go looking for the Timber Wolf Incident, they can go straight to the Timber Worlf page. Instead of being redirected to another one. It doesn't hurt to have the same info both places. Moonraker0022 23:28, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes, it does hurt to have the info in 2 places, as the info will only be updated on the Incidents page as necessary. (see any number of inconsistent pieces of information on other topics due to being scattered across pages; if you need specific examples of info not being updated correctly, let me know) This is consistent with how we've been handling all ride accident sections across the board. The ex-roller coaster, ExtremRoller/Steamroller which was taken out in 1989, I think, had a fatality of a bystander (the track went over the sidewalk, and someone got their head decapitated when standing on a fence) CloversMallRat 03:45, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Closing

Whoa! Where did this information come from that it's closing? I haven't heard this. From #1 wooden coaster in the world to demolished 16 years later... that's hard to believe. --Skylights76 20:47, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

I've added a {{fact}} tag to that, hopefully whoever posted it will turn up with some info, if they don't soon I'd recommend removing it. A cursory search of the worlds of fun page turned up these two items:
[1] Indicating the ride has just been renovated (unusual if they plan to tear it down)
[2] Indicating that work will likely continue on the Timber Wolf for 2-3 more years, highly unlikely if the ride won't exist anymore.
Actually, you should probably just remove that from the article, the more I look at it the more it looks like vandalism. Stardust8212 21:21, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
I had emailed the regional contacts for the ACE and the president of the Wooden Coaster Club for confirmation (figured I'd try them before actually emailing WOF), but you've found some pretty convincing info. Great work! I'm going to revert back to the version before that spurious info was added. --Skylights76 21:37, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

The same thing popped up in the article today calling it an "unconfirmed fact" (isn't that an oxymoron?) no citation was given. I think a statement such as this should not be left in the article so I removed it instead of simply adding a {{fact}} tag. I'd say it falls under WP:CRYSTAL at the very least. I was at Worlds Of Fun around a month ago and spoke to a park attendant on the issue, they said that Worlds Of Fun was planning on tearing it down at the end of the 2007 season, in part because of recent medical issues several people had after riding it. -- DKZ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.93.177.140 (talk) 02:01, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

As I said at Talk:Worlds of Fun, that is not a reliable source according to Wikipedia. Stardust8212 03:20, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

As I said, I'm only mentioning it, calm down. I was stating it, for others to make their own conclusions. -DKZ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.163.235.120 (talk) 01:46, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

I'm perfectly calm, you brought it up on the discussion page, I discussed why it is currently inappropriate for the article. Stardust8212 16:49, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Your inappropriate for the article.

Please comment on content, not on the contributor. Stardust8212 02:23, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

I was only simply mentioning something and it turned into you verbally bashing me as a contributor. So please from now on you comment on content, not on the contributor. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.163.235.120 (talk) 20:03, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Would you care to explain how stating that a park attendant at an amusement park is not a reliable source as defined by Wikipedia is "verbally bashing" you in any way? Until information about the closure of the ride can be attributed to a reliable source it is not appropriate content for the article. You as a contributor could do a perfectly fine job by reading WP:RS and finding a source that meets those standards to add more information to the article. Stardust8212 23:53, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Why do you act as if I'm the one who posted everything about the closing of the timber wolf? Because I didn't, all I said was:

"I was at Worlds Of Fun around a month ago and spoke to a park attendant on the issue, they said that Worlds Of Fun was planning on tearing it down at the end of the 2007 season, in part because of recent medical issues several people had after riding it."

And that was it, I never said anything about "all of you are wrong" or anything like that. I simply stated what I heard and that is that. This is only the discussion page and since people were talking I threw in what I knew. I never altered or changed anything on the Timber Wolf page which stated it was closing. I know the standards of wikipedia thus I never said anything about it's closing on the article. I mearly said it was "unconfirmed". -DKZ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.163.235.120 (talk) 00:41, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

This is the discussion page and I have tried to rationally discuss this with you. I don't know why you think I'm attacking you but this comment you made was completely inappropriate and that is what I am referring to when I tell you to comment on content not the contributor. Why did you bring it up on the page if you didn't want to discuss its inclusion in the article? This page is for discussing improving the article not idle chatter and guessing about whether the ride will close. I will not engage in any further discussion on this topic not related to improving the article. Stardust8212 00:56, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Thank You! And this comment I made was light hearted and meant no offense. And where I'm from the words "Calm Down" And It's Likeness never have been "completely inappropriate". Anyways, I'm done talking about it. I will no longer argue about a roller coaster that when you ride it makes you feel as if your having a brian aneurysm. For the record (Meaning no offense) I hope it is demolished. And before you verbally abuse me and throw more wikipedia rules at me .... Good Bye "Stardust" and good luck in your more "meaningful" endeavors.
