A fascinating article. I was going to law school while Scully was on trial up the street in the SF Federal building and several times I would wander up and observe the trial, listening to testimony by Scully, Hitchcock, Nick Sands, and others. I thought their lawyers sold them down the river by concocting a preposterous defense which annoyed the rather stern judge.
