Time-dilation-001.svg (SVG file, nominally 400 × 450 pixels, file size: 13 KB)

[edit] Summary

A photon clock, at a resting frame of reference.

A photon bounces between mirrors A and B; the clock ticks every time it hits the mirror A. If the separation between the mirrors is L, then this clock's period is 2L/c.

I created this SVG version of Image:Time-dilation-001.jpg using Inkscape.
