Tillie Mae Hill is a fictional character from the King of the Hill animated TV series. Voiced originally by Tammy Wynette, and later by Beth Grant, and sometimes by K Callan. Tillie is the mother of series protagonist Hank Hill and is the ex-wife of the late Cotton Hill. Her marriage to Cotton was an unpleasant one, with Cotton often abusing Tillie verbally and demeaning her while she attempted to complete household tasks.
Years later, Tillie finally got fed up with Cotton and divorced him, and since then has found happiness with a Jewish man Gary Kasner (voiced by Carl Reiner), with whom she had sex on Hank's kitchen table, causing Hank to go temporarily blind. Despite the bitterness between her and Cotton, Tillie remains a kind, compassionate woman who cares deeply for her son Hank. Although Hank has trouble connecting with her emotionally (just as he has trouble emotionally connecting with everyone else), he is a loving and devoted son who only wants what is best for his mother during her final years. He has defended her honor more than once before Cotton.
Tillie has been shown to be caring and intelligent, but emotionally fragile. In episode 3-16, "Escape from Party Island", she is shown to have a fascination with glass miniatures that borders on madness.
