Is it not worth mentioning that Tilgate Park has particular historic and paleantological intererest for being the site where the first dinosaur fossil was found, internationally? At least, this is what I have been led to believe!

I believe they were found by his wife at Whitemans Green near Cuckfield although his report was titled "Notice on the Iguanodon, a Newly Discovered Fossil Reptile, from the Sandstone of Tilgate Forest, in Sussex," Ted (talk) 17:43, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
